Focusing predominately on fresh local seafood with a French, Lowcountry flare, Charlie’s is the place for good food, good wine and unforgettable memories all enjoyed in a quaint French country atmosphere.

A Savannah native, Charlie Golson’s interest in the French language and culture took him to Paris. After a long stint in the fast paced hotel kitchens of Washington DC, he was ready to move back closer to home. It was at that time he was able to open up a one room French bistro. The restaurant has grown over the years, but the ‘Green Star’ remains steadfast in offering the finest ingredients the Low country has to offer with a menu that is hand written daily. Resort Casual.

Charlie's never disappoints! Best fish on the island! Every time we come to the island, we make reservations at Charlie's.

We have dined at Charlie’s when we come to Hilton Head every year since 2000. We have always been glad. We were warmly greeted by Patrick. I tried a new chowder (it was served hot) and fish and they were excellent. My wife’s totally enjoyed her fish. The beans and carrots could be steamed more. The carmel cake, a favorite for my wife, was really good. Thadeus was personable, knowledgeable and attentive. The bread, soup, meal and dessert were presented promptly without being rushed.

Excellent!!! I highly recommend, my Halibut with an apricot horseradish sauce may have been the most delicious fish I have ever ate. My husband also raved about his monkfish. Can’t wait to go back.

We always enjoy dining at Charlie’s. Our food was fantastic! We had the swordfish, blackened tile fish, and scallops. Appetizers included fried calamari and escargot. Perfect dinner, wonderful, attentive service and Apple cake was excellent!

Charlie’s was great as usual. It’s our favorite restaurant for dinner on Hilton Head and we try to hit it wherever we visit. Strongly recommend!
