Founded in 1977, Bosco Del Merlo crafts single-varietal wines from Northern Italy.     Dear Daughter and I went to Charlie Palmers for a leisurely lunch before leaving the DC area. The restaurant was selected solely based on reviews. The reviews were dead on! The staff is professional and accommodating from the moment we entered the door. They have a secure area to hold luggage for those who may need it. Lunch was an order of the filet mignon with lobster (shell removed in the kitchen. Thank you!) and a steak salad. The steak in the salad was the best filet mignon I've ever had! The cocktails are well made and have generous portions. It was lunchtime and the noise level was low. I don't recall overhead musis and sounds did not carry from table to table. Overall. this was exactly what we needed before a long day of travel and to say adieu. I would certainly go hear again when in the area.

    I was really looking forward to dining at Charlie Palmer, given its reputation as one of the top-rated steak restaurants in the DC area. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment. To start with the positives, the restaurant itself is sparkling clean, and the wait staff is polite and attentive. However, the meal was where things fell flat. We ordered the Australian Wagyu and the bone-in ribeye, both highly recommended cuts. To my surprise, they brought out A1 sauce with these premium steaks. I don’t expect a steakhouse of this caliber to serve A1 sauce—this isn’t the Roadhouse Grill. The focus should be on the quality of the meat itself. Another odd choice was that the steaks were pre-cut before they were served. Why would a high-end steakhouse pre-cut their steaks? It detracts from the experience of cutting into a perfectly cooked piece of meat yourself, and it felt like a strange decision for a place that is supposed to celebrate its steaks. On the plus side, the steaks were cooked to medium as we requested, but beyond that, there was nothing extraordinary about them. Overall, the experience was just okay, but not one that I’d go out of my way to repeat.

    Celebrated our anniversary here Friday night. Service was great, food was amazing, dining manager Lewis was super personable! We ordered the ribeye & crab cake entrees - both were great. Will def be back for another celebration!

    The staff was very nice and the food quality was good overall. The value wasn’t great, but that’s probably not why you go to this restaurant The service, however, was not the best. We had two waiters who didn’t seem to know what the other person was doing so we were often missed. They brought the dishes to our table missing some very basic things. For example, the appetisers and salads were served with no serving utensils Of any kind. We only had our own person utensils. We had to keep asking for those. They forgot our drinks as well and we had to ask for them again. We also forgot something at the restaurant and called back the very next day and left a message. Nobody returned our call we made three subsequent calls and left messages. When we finally did reach someone on our last call, of course the item was missing, but what do you expect if nobody returns your phone call for over a week?

    The food was very delicious! Our server, Gustavo, was an absolute delight and had amazing recommendations. Everything from the bread to our appetizers, from our cocktails and wine to our entrees was breathtaking! The steaks cut like butter and the taste was out of this world! My husband is now a fan of Japanese Whiskey after trying the Sakura Sour and having an Old Fashioned made with the same whiskey! Thank you again for the beautiful dinner experience.
