Northwest Chef and Edmonds native Jake Wilson brings his signature care for cuisine and jovial grin to Main Street in Downtown Edmonds. At the heart of the kitchen is a charcoal fired grill, inspired by the Argentinian Santa Maria style, and custom built to serve the finest bounties of the Pacific Northwest. Located in the Graphite Art Center building on 2nd and Main, Charcoal is where food and art come to meet.

The food was so very tasty! With an appetizer, wine and two entree's the bill was over $200! That's a lot pricey for this couple, but for special occasions this will remain on our list of good eats.

After seeing all of the great reviews, we had to try it; we were not disappointed. They don’t have a huge menu, but what they have they do well. My super-picky wife really enjoyed her ‘smash burger’, my steak was done perfectly, and my buddy who ordered the duck said it was as good as he’s ever had. Service was very good! Noise level is a little loud; I had to take a phone call during dinner and had to find a semi-quiet place to do it, but other than that it was great. The 4 of us decided this is going to be in our regular ‘rotation’!

We went here recently for an anniversary dinner. Looking for good food, a nice atmosphere, and friendly staff and we got it. It was a Wednesday evening close to closing time but we never felt rushed or as if we were their last customers- which we were. We were greeted when we entered they made note it was our anniversary and everyone congratulated us thought the night. The waitress was so friendly. She made great recommendations and checked in often. The food was amazing. High quality fresh ingredients were used and everything was fresh. Loved that we could see the kitchen and that everything was clean. Bonus it’s connected to an art gallery that was open just as late

Great steaks, of course. But this restaurant has food you'd never think of. The duck was superb. The marrow and beignets were a new experience and delicious. The pork belly in lettuce cups was very tasty. And that's just a sample of some of the great menu items. When you go here, branch out and challenge your tastebuds to a new experience!

Great meal. Very good service. Excellent wine selection. Clams were awesome. Beets were some of the best anywhere.

We enjoyed our experience. My fish was under fine. I requested in medium, with not a cool center and the center was cold on my salmon. By the time our server returned and offered to get me another piece, I had already half or on each end that was cooked. Typically, your food it top notch and cooked as requested. The beignets were also pretty dry. Otherwise it was a nice evening.

Charcoal is quality over quantity. The modest portions perfectly pair with their respective sauces, purees, reductions, and vegetables. The staff know their menu and drinks, and the decor and music set a vibe for letting your senses roam and enjoy the scents, sounds, and sights of the space. We go rarely, for special occasions, but it's always worth it.

Impressive ambiance. Wait staff was quick and attentive. The best part was the food. The toasted cauliflower was yummy. My Mushroom Tagliatelle was Amazing ! My husband’s SmashBurger was exceptional, best burger he’s ever eaten.
