Grilled salmon was fishy tasting, pasta did not have much sauce. Ordered salad without tomatoes and onions, received salad full of chopped tomatoes. Mushroom risotto did not have much flavor. All around, disappointing meal for the cost.

We visited Southern Pines for New Year's Eve and knew nothing about Char Bar No.7 before arriving. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. Everything was excellent from the abundant parking to the charming restaurant atmosphere to the friendly service. We enjoyed our meal very much and would recommend Char Bar No. 7 to anyone looking for a cozy date spot, a place to dine and watch the game, or a small family get-together. The food was yummy and our server, Sophia, was outstanding.

We arrived at the time of our reservation and were told that no tables were ready. What exactly is the point of making a reservation then? The “greeters” at the restaurant were utterly uninterested in serving customers and really ought to find a job that makes them happy. Fortunately after 10 minutes or so a table opened and we had the great fortune of being assigned to Kaitlin (so?) who was a FANTASTIC waitress. Food was very good and Kaitlin was awesome.

Service was impeccable, thanks! Crowd noise level was high outside, not a place for seniors when it’s crowded. We went inside, still noisy - better suited for the younger crowd. Burger and chicken 4 star. Thanks.

Had a great time for a casual birthday dinner with friends. Everyone enjoyed their meal and drink. We tried Beth’s Pink Drink, a specialty pink cocktail that had been available all of October with $1 from each being donated to breast cancer research. The drink was great and very fairly priced at $9. The restaurant was full but we were seated immediately, even though we were 15 min early for our reservation. Great time! We will be back.

Sam was a great person to wait on us. She was very attentive and charming. Get the shaved broccoli salad! My parents are thrilled when they can get dark beer at a bar. And I like having cider options. Trust me these aren’t usually offered.
