I ordered a ribeye-medium rare and it was presented to me medium well/well done (‘no pink’ at all). Another guest in my party ordered a filet-medium, it was sent out well done. Steaks were seasoned well and we didn’t want to wait for them to redo them, so we accepted both steaks ‘as is.’ Found this to be very uncommon for Char. I am hopeful for a better outcome should we return in the future.

First time here. The food was absolutely delicious. Staff friendly. My mother-in-law had the steak salad, hubby had the steak sandwich and I had the filet mignon w/mushrooms. It’s so hard to find a really tasty steak restaurant but this was cooked perfectly and tender. We will be back.

Dishes that were excellent: NOLA BBQ shrimp and fried green tomato appetizers; corn dusted red fish; steak and frites, ribeye and truffle fries. Both steak dishes cooked perfectly.

The service and the atmosphere were very nice. The food was not impressive. Have been here only a few times, but don’t have to go back.

We had brunch on a rainy afternoon. The “look” of the restaurant was sophisticated, urbane, like one might expect to see in an upscale hotel restaurant or bistro. The wedge salad was proportioned well, not too overwhelming; the lettuce was crisp and wasn’t smothered in dressing. The steak frites were delicious, prepared nicely. The sirloin tips were almost completely covered by the fries, almost hiding. My wife was pleasantly surprised by the offering of a vegetable plate. The broccoli, while undercooked just a bit, had some spice - interesting! Really good. Our server was spot on, never missed a step. Definitely worth another visit.

Party of eight with reservation: we were seated immediately. From the time we sat down, it was perfect! 6 of 8 ordered filet and everyone said it’s the best steak they have had in a long time. I would highly recommend Char for your next dining treat in Nashville!

Very noisy! Food was ok but not great. Won’t go back. Reservations for our anniversary. They sat us in the middle of a large busy room between tables of 8 and 12 around us. We could not hear each other or the waitress. We went last year for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. Our table was in the bar area and much nicer.
