Other than the very friendly wait person, there is nothing good to say about our experience at Chapter One today. It was a holiday (Veterans Day) and likely to be a busy day in Mystic. There was one waitress on - she tried her best and was so pleasant, just unable to service the number of guests she had. Our food was less than mediocre, Caesar Salad was a bowl of romaine with a few grilled shrimp, No croutons, no shave parm - just what seemed like bottled dressing. The clam chowder tased like it came right out of the can, and it was barely warm, The cold lobster roll was seemed to be piled with lobster salad, but it was an illusion - all piled in the middle of the roll, ends completely empty. The waitress never took our plates off the table and never asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. She just plopped the check down, I had to hand her a couple of our plates to take away and ask for coffee. Rather than get the coffee, she took the bill away and never came back with the coffee. I finally had to chase her down to ask for the coffee - and when it finally came, I had to give her the last of our plates.

Thank you Steve for a wonderful birthday brunch experience as my it was my first visit to Chapter One. He offered great service, conversation , and suggestions for beverages... (a prickly pear mimosa and an acai-berry mimosa) Delicious Lobster Benedict.... Music inside was fun & familiar, and special guest accompaniment was entertaining as well. Very friendly & helpful staff all around, & great location in the heart of downtown Mystic. Will definitely be back with friends next time! ;)

Our server was extremely attentive throughout the entire experience. She has an amazing memory too for our food order we were really impressed !

Not a great witness- food wasn’t good and we felt super rushed. We didn’t even get a chance to talk to our server she barely was around. Not a restaurant I would go back to, especially since we were celebrating our anniversary

Poor experience. Very disappointed with our choice! Not what we expected. Not the restaurant we expected. More like a local bar than restaurant.

If you like noise, this is the place for you. It was crowded when we got there which is typical on a Saturday night, but our waitress was too busy waiting on other people to show us any attention. We got more attention from the hostess our French onion soup was very hot, but my husband sandwich was not very good. Pastrami was very fatty ,for what we had price was high.

Don't be put off that this is a pub. Fantastic food. Delicious drinks. Great service. Mystic has a great dining scene. I had a col lobster roll seasoned with Old Bay & fries. Husband had a warm lobster roll & fries. Our friend had seared sesame crusted tuna served rare with soy rice with stir-fried vegetables & topped with seaweed salad & wasabi aioli. It was enough for two servings. Our friend happily enjoyed the leftovers the next day.

Delicious scallops and risotto. Espresso martini flight was also delicious. Street corn app was very good and my family loved it. A+ from the kids as well. We will definitely be back!

The food her is always amazing and the staff is always super friendly. But this last visit was over the top! Joe is the best server ever! That’s it. Hands down. He turned our 10 into an 11.
