Chapman’s Seafood Restaurant in Canterbury is located in the historic St. Dunstan’s area – a stone’s throw from the Westgate Towers Museum and Gardens and a two-minute stroll from Canterbury West train station. We offer an informal, welcoming atmosphere where good food and friendly customer service is standard, and our kitchen serves only the finest fresh fish sourced from the local area.

Here at Chapmans we offer a wide menu starting our day with the breakfast menu to a set lunch menu and a la carte dinner menu.

We came for our wedding anniversary on a Friday night. We were the only ones here, but the service and the atmosphere was very nice. We had the tuna tartar and the scallops, followed by roasted hake fillet and monkfish wellington. All of the fish courses were full of flavour and good size portions. The winner for me was the monkfish. The desserts were also really tasty. The chocolate delice tasted like proper real chocolate but the cinnamon bun takes the cake. The portions are generous. I think the main courses are well priced, starter and dessert on the higher end of the spectrum. But the food is worth it. Will definitely come back again!

Crispy soft shell crab very good. Seabass riotto very nice also. Scallops a bit too pricey given only 3 small pieces. Overall nice. Will go again.

I was a in a party of six and all except one thought the food was very good and freshly cooked which is very rare these days. Staff were friendly and although there was not many people in the restaurant there was still a happy and welcoming atmosphere

We were recommended to dine at Chapmans by someone who lives locally and we're not disappointed. The service was excellent throughout, so too the quality of the ingredients and combination of flavours. Highly recommended.

We recently dined at Chapmans of Canterbury and had a delightful experience. The new menu offered an exciting array of dishes that were absolutely delicious. The venue itself is charming and added to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. Although the service was a bit slow, it was understandable given the introduction of the new menu. Despite this, the staff were courteous and attentive. Prices were reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of food and ambiance. We'll definitely be returning to try more from the new menu!

We had a lovely lunch on a Saturday afternoon, waitresses were welcoming and helpful. I had the curry when I came before but opted for the lemon sole from the specials board this time which was delicious with a side of chips that I dipped in the delicious gravy from my friends beef rib!

Fantastic lunch, beautiful whole lemon sole & tenderstem broccoli. Lovely waitress on the day and very nice to see everyone smiling.
