Chapman’s Seafood Restaurant in Canterbury is located in the historic St. Dunstan’s area – a stone’s throw from the Westgate Towers Museum and Gardens and a two-minute stroll from Canterbury West train station. We offer an informal, welcoming atmosphere where good food and friendly customer service is standard, and our kitchen serves only the finest fresh fish sourced from the local area.

Here at Chapmans we offer a wide menu starting our day with the breakfast menu to a set lunch menu and a la carte dinner menu.

Such a great experience on Friday night, this is the best fish restaurant in Canterbury. I can’t wait to go back.

The service & food were excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the blacked sea trout with a side of tenderstem broccoli in chilli butter. I loved the selection of dishes on the main menu & specials. Will definitely be returning to try something else from the menu.

They know how to cook here and you won’t be disappointed. Having said that, more is less and as the fish is obviously fresh it would be nice just to have a white fish with a simple lemon sauce or butter blanc. The mid week menu is good value, but here again I would have liked to have a choice as mentioned above

Chapmans presents many seafood options for starters and mains, with unique sauces and sides. Many of these were gluten free as my diet requires. This is the best dinner we had in our four days in Canterbury. The halibut (the special) was fresh and tender, accompanied by leeks, green beans, and yummy wine sauce. The gluten free white chocolate bomb was delectable with pistachio ice cream and pistachio sauce. My husband had seabass, broccoli, and fruit tart, all tasting wonderful to him. The server was attentive and knew the menu well. Highly recommended!

Ordered scallops which were melt in the mouth. The lobster and hake goan curry was the best meal I have had this year. Absolutely outstanding. My son has two more years at university so will be definitely back to order this again

Fish restaurant with very interesting variety of choices. We were a group of four and each of had excellent, tasty meal. The service was very good, the atmosphere welcoming and relaxing. Highly recommended.
