My wife and I went to the tea house in Pasadena on a Saturday afternoon. Everything was wonderful with the exception that on the day we went the central AC was out so they were using portable AC units and fans, but I understand that sometimes things stop working, and to their credit the team room had a back up plan. The food they provide with your afternoon tea service is the equivalent of a good lunch. We enjoyed our afternoon.

Tables for two are too small. By the time they served two pots of tea and placed the tiered sandwich and desserts server on the table, I couldn't see my lunch companion across the table.

A lovely experience for an afternoon tea- if you’ve never done one before this is a great place with reasonable cost to have the full experience! Reccomend!

Great setting, plenty of delicious food and attentive service at less than half the cost of tea at the hotel. We'll be back!

Chado -Pasadena was a huge disappointment. Service was terrible. We had a waiter who didn’t speak good English and so my order was totally messed up. We had to beg to get menus and then were totally left alone the entire meal. No one offered to give us more hot water or check in on our meal. We were constantly trying to get the attention of staff. So unpleasant. The scone I ordered with my tea service was over baked and hard as a rock. The sandwiches were not fresh tasting. My friends didn’t like their paninis as they were cold and didn’t taste good. The food was just terrible. I have not had such an unpleasant experience at a restaurant like this in a long time. Not sure why this restaurant had 4 stars out of 5. The food was expensive. I don’t mind expensive food if it tastes good but this was downright awful. The bathroom is shared with another restaurant and it was dirty. I would not ever recommend this place to anyone. Beware!!

I used to enjoy this tea room so much. However I was very disappointed this visit. They were very understaffed. Took around 20 minutes for someone to take our order. Then another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Food was not to its usual quality. Honestly couldn’t wait to leave.
