    Pros- attentive service, quiet room (though few diners). Lasagna and lamb ragu superb. Bolognese pasta sauce tasty but lacked some complexity. Bread is complimentary which is increasingly rare Cons- prices for lunch are the same as dinner, which are very high even by SD standards. So a lasagna lunch is $35. Also needed to pay attention to a few details (esp at this price point)- our Caprese salad had excellent ripe heirloom tomatoes. But the stems and cores were not removed so we had to cut them all out

    I have been here before and found it to be excellent however this time must've been an aberration The food was good as usual however I ran out of iced tea and the person I was with also ran out of their drink and no one came to refill anything. There were too many workers I assume one was being trained and they were so busy talking to each other they neglected The customers at least they did my table. This was at 4:45 in the afternoon on a rather blustery day and they seated us next to the front door which was strange because the whole place was empty almost but it was cold and when asked about closing the door was told that they had to keep it open because they were serving people on the patio which ironically had heaters going. The music was unusually loud and one song seemed to play over and over although it was a slightly different version so I guess you could say it was different but it was annoying and should've been turned much lower although our booth was right under the speaker Perhaps a little Italian music would be better than the techno they were playing when I was there I was disappointed with the whole affair I had been looking forward to going back to this place and so brought a friend and aside from being called the entire time and having to speak loud because the music was so loud was disappointed they could not even refill despite having a very large number of employees wandering around. The food is excellent and you will be paying $26 for a bowl of pasta without any protein which would be additional but it is very tasty. A can of Coke cost five dollars. I'm not sure how this is justified but you would expect excellent service and we just didn't get it today

    You won’t be disappointed in the fresh pastas!! Thought the octopus and salad were slightly above average but pasta + gelato were amazing. Great service from the whole staff!

    Cesarina is an absolute must if you are ever in San Diego! We visit every time we are in town. It was an absolute favorite when we lived in the neighborhood and it’s still a favorite even after being away for a year and coming back to visit. The atmosphere is so perfect for any occasion you are celebrating. We always receive wonderful recommendations when we visit and always leave feeling so satisfied. We will always come back here when we visit and enjoy the wonderful Cesarina! Thank you for making our dinner experience memorable!

    The only negative thing that I can say about the restaurant is that parking is difficult. It is completely worth the trouble however. There is valet parking on some nights. Reservations are a must.

    Ate lots of free focaccia bread, it was fabulous. Pasta was very good, a great comfort meal. Wine was also pretty good! Had the Cesarina red wine, a basic red, but I liked it. Didn’t get the tiramisu this time … but I will come back for it
