Fish and chips were delicious, French dip was just okay. FoIs Gras was very good! Love the atmosphere and the service! Always a favorite of mine and I will be back !!

Exceptional service & food. Love the new renovations. Very noisey, as it was the Fourth of July. Our waiter went above and beyond to be of assistance and make our experience memorable

My recent visit to the Boathouse restaurant in Central Park left much to be desired. Despite requesting a waterfront table for three, we were initially seated at a cramped table with a side chair, far removed from the water's edge. This setup immediately disappointed my son, who had been eagerly anticipating the scenic view. When I asked our server if we could be relocated to one of the available tables by the water, which we had clearly seen occupied by other guests that was group of 3, we were met with a cold refusal. (There were other empty tables by water) the atmosphere was excessively crowded, with tables squeezed into a limited space, making it uncomfortable for diners. Moreover, the pricing of the food was exorbitant for what was offered, emphasizing profit over customer experience. It seemed evident that the restaurant prioritized maximizing seating capacity over providing a comfortable dining environment. This focus on commercial gain rather than customer satisfaction left a bitter impression. Additionally, while a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill, there was also a space for additional tipping, which could easily lead to over-tipping if not careful. I know fancy restaurants do automatic tipping but this place certainty does not meet that fancy restaurant expectation. Overall, while the location of the Boathouse holds appeal due to its Central Park setting, the experience was marred by poor seating arrangements, expensive pricing relative to the quality, and a clear emphasis on profit over service. Oh, and even though I asked for tap water they gave me bottled still water that costed $10 with no explanation whatsoever. For 1 appetizer 1 lemonade and 2 main mediocre dishes, it costed $170.

Place is nice. Always feels rushed. I would still recommend especially for the view. Take your time. Take up your full slot/allcated time, since they will have you outta there in no time.

It’s a hot day in NYC and it’s my birthday! The air conditioning was perfect, the food and drink amazing! Amanda our waitress was quick, smart and engaging and the view was everything you could hope for! The lobster roll special and the oysters fulfilled every summer dream one could imagine

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon on the 4th of July, so a mad crowd was inevitable. In spite of that we had a lovely meal, with great service and that sweet view of the lake. Sadly, the noise level was deafening, making conversation all but impossible. I have not been there recently on a non-crazy, busy holiday so have no way of knowing how usual or unusual this is.
