We are three New York hospitality industry veterans, and Cecily is our Greenpoint home. Originally conceived during the pandemic as a mission-driven neighborhood restaurant with a deep and thoughtful wine list, where we could provide our employees meaningful profit sharing and ownership, and our guests incredible service. Cecily values a sense of place and neighborhood, delicious sustainable food, and responsible stewardship in our community.

    We had a fantastic experience. The 4 of us ordered and shared the entire menu (except the scallops and salami). Every dish was delicious. Our favorites were the mussel toast, pork chop and chicken. Great place.

    Dinner a Cecily was fantastic. The mussel toast was delicious and the chicken was great; perfectly spiced without being too spicy. Pork chop was tender and juicy. We had the fava beans and asparagus to round out a perfect shared meal. We were celebrating 2 birthdays so of course got all 3 desserts and all were excellent

    This is the second time we dined at Cecily. We came back again because we liked the food so much the first time. The meal last night was not good. Both the chicken and the pork were overcooked, and the vegetables in both dishes were dominated by a vinegar flavor. Unfortunately, the kitchen staff was not on top of their game last night. We were sitting at the bar and noticed the kitchen staff was not very engaged. One guy spent a lot of time looking at his phone. This was a let down and we are unlikely to come back to Cecily. This is is shame given we had such a great meal the first time we were there.

    Friendly staff were a little overwhelmed on that particular evening, but were very helpful with the menu. Food was stunningly good from simple principles.
