Using the best of ingredients from our award winning local suppliers, all our dishes are a real treat to enjoy within the historic surroundings of the Stables courtyard at Chatsworth House.

The house car park – conveniently located next to the house, garden, stables and farmyard – is open every day until 7pm. Parking is free with all tickets booked online. Calton Lees car park is located at the southern end of the park and is open every day until 7pm and costs £3 per vehicle.

A number of local bus services come to Chatsworth and stop at the house. The bus stop is just a short walk from the house, garden and farmyard entrances.The closest train station to Chatsworth is Chesterfield. However, buses from Chesterfield do not come all the way into to Chatsworth. The closest bus stop is Baslow, which is 2km on foot.

A light savoury starter is followed by a selection of carefully thought out finger sandwiches. A refreshing interlude follows in the form of a sorbet, before our delectable cakes complete the experience served on a beautiful Wedgwood tea stand. Enjoy as many teas as you can manage from our bespoke range supplied by Northern Tea Merchants of Chesterfield, a cafetiere or barista made coffee. A truly memorable experience.

Enjoy a delicious three course meal served within the comfortable ambiance of the Cavendish Restaurant in the historic Stables courtyard at Chatsworth, created using the finest ingredients sourced from our award winning suppliers and the Chatsworth Estate. Freshly baked breads and salted butter served on arrival, followed by a choice of starters, mains and desserts from a passionately created menu. All for just £45.00per person. A two course option is available for £37.50.

Beautiful location, served by several wonderful staff who were very attentive, professional, and really helped bring the place together. Food was very impressive and drunks to match. Zero complaints. Thanks to Paul who mainly served us.

Stunning afternoon tea in the most beautiful surroundings. Everything was perfect from stunning table settings with Wedgwood china. Wonderful staff & beautiful food. Lucy who looked after us was so knowledgable about the food and Chatsworth. She went above and beyond to make our afternoon perfect. Thank you Stephen too was so welcoming and kind

Had a lovely time at Cavendish Restaurant, went for the fantastic afternoon tea for two. All staff were exceptionally pleasant and very attentive, couldn't have asked for better service. The food was fabulous and had so much that we had to take a few of the sweet treats home with us!

Myself and my Grandma absolutely loved the Afternoon Tea experience, the food was amazing and the lady serving us (Andrea I think her name was) was so friendly and attentive and made the experience even better. We will definitely be returning.

All very nice but if you’re a big eater don’t expect to be full. Is expensive but lovely for a treat. Nice to try as many teas or coffees as you like at extra cost. The vanilla tea was my favourite and the smoked salmon with cream cheese sandwich taste’s divine.

After reading a review that criticised the afternoon tea as subpar, I didn’t have the highest expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised—the food was absolutely delicious! I’m so glad I ignored that review! It was worth every penny. A special shoutout to Adele, who recommended the perfect teas to pair with each course of the afternoon tea—she was absolutely spot on! Trust Adele; she knows what she’s talking about. I would 100% go again and can’t wait to return in the spring when the house reopens!

As regular patrons we were not surprised by the quality of service and food. The staff are wonderful and attentive to a fault without being overbearing. Our 3rd visit in 14 days and certainly not our last.

Beautiful surroundings and afternoon tea was gorgeous. Presentation of food is so lovely. You are never rushed. Tea/coffee is unlimited and ladies recommended teas for each setting. Worth every penny.

A fantastic experience, lovely food in beautiful surroundings. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and we felt well looked after. The upholstery on the seating is beautiful, and the mix and match colourful Wedgewood china was a delight.
