A sumptuous four course afternoon tea or three course set lunch menu are available to pre-book in the bright and beautifully decorated Cavendish restaurant. Using the best of ingredients from our award winning local suppliers, all our dishes are a real treat to enjoy within the historic surroundings of the Stables courtyard at Chatsworth House.

The bus stop is just a short walk from the house, garden and farmyard entrances.<br />The closest train station to Chatsworth is Chesterfield. A light savoury starter is followed by a selection of carefully thought out finger sandwiches. A refreshing interlude follows in the form of a sorbet, before our delectable cakes complete the experience served on a beautiful Wedgwood tea stand. Enjoy as many teas as you can manage from our bespoke range supplied by Northern Tea Merchants of Chesterfield, a cafetiere or barista made coffee. A truly memorable experience.

Enjoy a delicious three course meal served within the comfortable ambiance of the Cavendish restaurant in the historic Stables courtyard at Chatsworth, created using the finest ingredients sourced from our award winning suppliers and the Chatsworth Estate. Freshly baked focaccia and oil served on arrival, then a choice of starters, mains and desserts from a passionately created menu. All for just £45.00per person. A two course option is available for £37.50

With thyme mashed potato, steamed tender stem broccoli, red wine jus and a Bourguignon garnish

Served on a chickpea casserole with pak choi, coriander yoghurt and crispy onions

This restaurant is lovely! It is a quiet escape from the busy environment of the House. The food was first class, with one of the best deserts I’ve ever had! And the staff were attentive and kind. It was a great experience! We’ll be back.

Dining at The Cavendish is a really lovely experience. The food, service and atmosphere dining in such grandeur architecture really makes my husband & I feel good. We intend to bring family next time

Had the utmost difficulty in booking through your website and directly with Chatsworth for afternoon tea for 2 people. Had a voucher to redeem and on presenting it was told it was only for 1 person. We could either share a meal or pay for another. Booking very confusing. Illustration is for 2 people. It is not obvious that you have to book 2 afternoon teas. The champagne illustration shows 2 glasses of champagne and 2 teacups. Our family would not buy afternoon for only 1 person. As a result we did not stay. Considering our options.

What a lovely day for an afternoon tea. Myself , mum and mother in law enjoyed the beautiful selection of sandwiches, cakes, teas, coffees and sweet treats courtesy of my husband as a gift. The restaurant is stunning and the perfect backdrop. The China was exquisite and the service from Kath was again excellent. What a friendly, helpful and welcoming lady. Also the wine list is not extortionate and we felt very good value for money, particularly the house rosé. Thank you for a truly memorable day out xx

It was a wonderful experience on a lovely summers day. From start to finish the service and care was excellent. The food likewise was tasty, fresh and well presented. A great afternoon in a wonderful setting.

Thought the place and staff were amazing however thought it was poor value for the money at £49.50 each and no Prosecco in with that price.

I had booked the first sitting for 11.30 and ran a little late but friendly staff greeted us and told us not to worry, was swiftly sat down and we had the place to ourselves. Overlooking the courtyard was nice. The service was impeccable at the start and there were only two of us in the group so we both felt the waiter had lots of time for us, which made it extra special. The receptionist was lovely as she recommended various tea to compliment each stage of our meal. The teas were lovely and refreshing, all very clean and tidy, lovely table ware couldn't fault it. Some items on our plate we were not familiar with so got the taste buds going. There was plenty to eat, service maintained until it got busy towards the end and then we were waiting. A bit pricy but this was a gift so it was a very nice experience
