A very inviting atmosphere inside the Intercontinental Hotel downtown San Antonio. the food was excellent and our server Miguel also was. Their lunch dish called the lunch rush is a very appealing plate as it comes with soup sandwich and a drink, as well as what I consider dessert in the form of a cookie. We had a wonderful time where we were seated and enjoyed the meal very much. The staff is very accommodating and they’re there to please. If you’re in the downtown area of San Antonio, you can visit this restaurant as it has sidewalk entrance for your convenience.

We went for brunch and service was amazing. We ordered Bloody Mary, mimosa, avacado toast, French toast with bacon and it was delicious. Plan to return and try the dinner menu.

It was my first time visiting Cavalier and I was very pleased with everything, service and food was awesome. The only negative was at times service was slow and place was not busy. But I want to clarify that my server was great. I will definitely want to visit again. I would recommend anyone to eat there.

Wonderful experience for our first dinner at Cavalier. We were a six person group, so I know that can be a little challenging for a server, but the service was excellent — not too pressured and responsive when we were ready. The drinks were excellent, most of the group had Old Fashions and the wine list was a little short but adequate. We shared a couple of bottles of Malbec with our meal. The beef tenderloin was cooked to a perfect temperature, but was a little salty for my taste (although I know how that is an individual preference). The manager came to the table and we had a nice conversation with him.

This is my wife and I second meal at the Cavalier, and again feel this is the best food and eating experience on the San Antonio Riverwalk. The hotel and restaurant have recently been renovated to perfection. More importantly, the food is delicious. From the moment you're welcomed at the entrance, you're treated like a friend and pampered guest. My highest compliments to the chef, the starter, meal and deserts are fabulous! Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. 5 Stars... we will be back.

My husband and I stay in San Antonio quite often and we enjoy finding new restaurants. This one was not a disappointment in the least. I am so glad that we found it. I did not even know that the intercontinental hotel was there. We usually stay at Saint Anthony or Valencia if we are going to be downtown. When we walked in the hotel was beautiful clean smelled good. Everybody was very friendly and welcomed us and the restaurant was no different. The food was exceptional- very fresh, beautifully prepared and plated. The cocktails were delicious for our appetizers. We had fresh East Coast oysters, and a fig and arugula flatbread. For our main entrée I had the short ribs on mash w/lentil. It was outstanding. We didn’t skimp on dessert either – I had a mango tart. We will definitely be coming back and we will be staying at the hotel most likely to check out their rooftop bar and and eat here again.
