The 8oz steak sandwich along with their huge caesar cocktail - it just does not get any better than that!

After eating at CattleBaron North, we decided to try the South Calgary location. What first caught our attention were the branding iron door handles and the saddle above the reception desk. They have decorated the interior in a modern western style, and it was very nice. Our server was very attentive. We asked if the dry ribs had a barbeque sauce or just salt and pepper. He said there was no sauce, so we ordered them. When they came to the table, they unfortunately had a sauce on them. Because it looked like there was sugar in the sauce, we asked him to check with the chef, as I am diabetic. He said there was a small amount of sugar, so we decided to order the shrimp cocktail. The server was very apologetic for the misunderstanding, but in his defense, we did not tell him that I was diabetic before ordering. He deducted the ribs from the bill, and also allowed us to take them home for my husband. The sauce was flour, sugar and soy sauce. The jumbo shrimp were really good and the sauce had a lot of punch. We ordered the CB burger, and asked that it be cooked medium well. No problems with doing that, which is amazing! It was delicious, and the fries were crispy and very tasty. We also ordered the 6 oz. filet with veggies. It tasted like the filet had been cooked in a sous vide and grilled at the last minute. Extremely tender, but it could have used a lot more grilling to add that "barbeque" taste. The veggies were carrots and broccoli. During our time there, our server was always making sure everything was OK, but without being annoying. All in all, we will return.

Our service was outstanding and we had Jamie(sp?) as our server. Our food was cooked perfectly (14oz Ribeye med-rare and the broccoli was cooked but still firm). Little noisier than we would have liked but makes sense given a Saturday night and the quality of the restaurant. We enjoy going to CattleBaron for our date nights!

The definition of mediocrity. We came for our anniversary dinner. We waited an hour for our main dishes to arrive even though we ordered within 10minutes of arriving. It was a very loud atmosphere and we were seated right at the front with a view of the front door and washrooms. Not ideal for a reservation ! When the food came out it was very underwhelming for the price we paid. We ordered the prime rib and Mediterranean chicken with Brussel sprouts for an appetizer. Will not be recommending this restaurant.

Dined at the location for a business lunch. Felt rushed like the server had somewhere to be. My food came out cold and almost seemed like it had been reheated. Expected so much more.

We began the meal with the Cabernet Savignon and an order of calamari. It was delicious. I ordered the 14 ounce ribeye steak and my wife ordered the rack of lamb. She was very impressed with the lamb and ate everything on her plate. I too finished off the ribeye and baked potato but left the broccoli and carrots only because I’m a meat and potatoes guy. We were hoping they would have a cheesecake and we were not disappointed. I finished the meal with a one ounce Lagavulin 18 Year Scotch … we’ll be back.

Food drink aooies meal and dessert were all top notch. Restaurant though is quite noisy so just be aware of that in advance

We had been recently traveling in UK: Schotland, Wales, England. Tryed different places and tasted variety of meals. We could get all that experience right in our home town Calgary and with Cattle Baron located down South. They've met all expectations from the entrance and to the last "Good bye and come again!"
