Perched above the dynamic streets of the West Hollywood Design District on the corner of Melrose and San Vicente, Catch LA features modern renditions of classic dishes served in a streaming, shareable style of dining. The retractable rooftop haven marries simple yet elegant, seafood, sushi, and steak with excellent service and a lively atmosphere complete with a unique, open-air dining room and breathtaking views of Downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills.     We came for brunch, and felt like the ambiance was really what we paid for. Our food wasn’t BAD, overall (except that the truffle fries were *inedibly* salty), it just didn’t feel like it justified the price for the view and décor. I think really great service could have closed the gap, but we didn’t get that either so 🙃 Maybe the dinner experience is better, but we’ll never know; with so many destination restaurants to try, we don’t feel the need to come back.

    The food that we ordered were salty specially the Lobster Mac ‘n cheese which you can really feel the granules of salt in your mouth. Also, the place is so overcrowded, not a good atmosphere if you want to celebrate special occasion. I will not recommend to anyone and will not come back for sure!

    I was celebrating my girls birthday and the seating for two is right on top of other tables. You can hear their conversations, and they can hear yours. There's about 2 feet that separate you and other tables which makes it uncomfortable and not as intimate as preferred. I ordered a spicy margarita and it came out way too spicy. Not enjoyable. I unfortunately had to send it back and get it remade. Then a lady sitting 2 feet from our table, we overheard her express to her partner that her drink was also too spicy to drink. Next, we ordered the New York strip medium and had to send it back because it was really rare. We had to ask the server, serving the table next to us because we couldn't find our server, honestly almost all night. And lastly, our server had weird energy. He did not want to be there. We expressed to him that we're celebrating a birthday and did nothing to make our experience better at the rate it was going. We were still picking at our sides and he cleared the table without asking. Didn't offer the dessert menu. We got out of there as fast as we could. Unfortunately it was not a pleasant birthday dinner :/

    Food excellent service excellent drinks amazing everything except that my request was not even considered or acknowledged that we came there for birthday and that I had asked if we can have booth setting .that was all said when I made reservation.
