Le Castaway Restaurant and Special Events Center est situé dans les collines de Burbank. William Stevenson was our waiter—honestly, he made the whole experience so much better. He’s one of those people who’s just naturally good at what they do. Super warm, easy to talk to, and you could tell he actually cared about making sure we had a great time. He gave thoughtful recommendations without feeling pushy and checked in at just the right times. It felt more like being hosted by a friend than just “getting served.” If you’re lucky enough to have William taking care of you, you’re in for a good night. The food was great! Sides were pretty good and the fried/ crispy fish was incredible with the coconut like flavor. Tasted like some food I had in the Bahamas, which is a W for Castaway

requested outdoor seating days in advance. even messaged the business through the useless open table app hours before the reservation time to ensure outdoor seat but the restaurant never reads the messages until you’re standing in front of them. brought my gf for her first experience there on her bday and was massively massively let down. also open table app is garbage

Early Saturday night reservation we were seated at a table jammed between a group birthday and a banquette with a baby stroller. Every waiter that came by banged into us or our table edges. Streams of people kept pushing past the overly crowded spaces disrupting our conversation and our enjoyment of the evening. The restaurant was overly loud and it was impossible to have a decent conversation. While the service was friendly and the food was decent ( they paid attention to our garlic allergy) it in no way made up for the cafeteria like atmosphere. At one point a waiter who had banged into our table said they should turn up the lights. That would have been the nail in the coffin for a “ evening out” I have been to Castaways many times but it is increasingly getting less and less pleasant due to its over crowding and obvious greed of the owners to take the profit rather than think of their customers experience. Nights out at restaurants are too expensive to be treated like a herd of Cattle.

We had a blast.- a celebration for my husband‘s birthday. Everything was top-notch. We were a party of six and we all just so enjoyed ourselves. The combination of the dinner followed up by the green room for dessert and drinks was just heaven. We will be back.

The food, drinks and atmosphere were amazing, but what made it extra special for us was our waiter Andrew, who was attentive, professional, and friendly. He greeted us enthusiastically and made great menu recommendations. Part of having a good experience at a restaurant is having a nice waiter which unfortunately is not common these days even at high end restaurants, but we were fortunate that Andrew was our waiter.

Worst service I’ve experienced in a long time. Reservation at 9:15, not seated till 9:45, server didn’t see us till 10PM. Took us 30 minutes from when we sat down to get a bottle of water. First starter chicken popcorn came out raw pink chicken and as sent back. At this point we were already fed up. Salmon main was good but the mushroom pasta was way too watery. Service on the night was very poor .

Been here many times and can recommend for party of two or a girls night out in the Green room . Overall a fantastic view, delicious food and lovely ambiance. Party of 10 got great service from the staff.Thank you for making my Moms birthday very special tonight .

Food was not good at all. We had the ribeye steak, brussel sprouts and kids cheeseburger and they were sub par. The vanilla ice cream was decent. The server was terrible, we had to ask several times for items and drinks, seems like she would forget every time. The only thing enjoyable was the view. Everything else was beta.
