We are a New York steakhouse with a twist. Our Executive Chef is the only one in Southern Connecticut to use the old world technique of skillet cooking; producing the most perfectly cooked steak. Besides our steak entrees, we also offer the freshest seafood, lamb and duck entrees, as well as daily specials prepared to perfection by our master chefs. All of our beef is perfectly aged and hand cut on the premises. We use only the finest ingredients, the freshest seafood and Prime Angus beef; each presented with simple elegance. Enjoy our homemade specialty breads and desserts.

It’s a shame how terrible the service and ambiance were. Those two factors drowned out how good the food was. Our server was indignant at best, came by one time, very short attitude, then he proceeded to get in an argument with another server right next to our table. Speaking of table, we were sat right next to the doorway with servers flying in and out of the room the entire night. There shouldn’t even be a table there. Plus, there were plenty of other open tables available, and yet you sat us in the busiest/loudest location. Lastly, the smoky smell from this place is repugnant. They definitely need to check on their ventilation system…immediately had to put all of my clothes in the wash from the smoky stench. I think this place has tons of potential, but the atmosphere kills the whole vibe. I will also say that the tacos are next level. If you do indeed suffer going there, get the tacos!

I was in town for the weekend for an event and Cast Iron was recommended as the best place to get quality steaks. The signage even says it was ranked as the best steakhouse in the area. Sounds promising! It was downhill from there once we walked inside. For a high-end steak joint, I expect excellent service, great food, mostly quiet environment, and an inviting atmosphere. Cast Iron had none of those things. The first thing that hits you is the volume. The entry is right into the bar area which was quite loud. We were seated in the main dining room which was only marginally quieter. The tin ceilings and no sound deadening material make it a noisy place to eat. Other than someone bringing water to the table, we waited nearly 10 minutes for anyone to come greet us. No "hi, how are you?" or "is this your first time dining with us?" Nope, it was straight into asking for our order. Were there any specials? I have no idea. We ordered the maple bacon Brussels sprouts to start. Pretty decent flavor. A bunch of the Brussels were not cut for some reason. $17 for them was about $5-7 too high. It's a vegetable, there's no reason for it to be $17. I ordered the filet medallions, broccoli, and home fries. Good all around, though the amount of beef was on the light side, maybe 4-5 ounces. $38 for this? This was basically a small version of steak tips. $30 would have been reasonable. My wife ordered the short rib. It looked great, was a big chunk of beef. It smelled... weird, unappetizing, like vinegar. I tried a bite and had to force myself to choke it down. I love short rib but this was possibly the least appetizing one I've ever had. $41 for the dish is probably in the right ballpark, maybe a couple dollars high, but a reasonable price overall. Being nearly inedible made it worth $0. Dessert was fine. Overall, would not recommend. Cast Iron doesn't check any of the boxes for what I consider an upscale steakhouse. Maybe it was great at one time, years ago.

Everything was as described and cooked to our specifications. Portions were plentiful, choices were imaginative, the server was Really nice and packed our leftovers meticulously. It tends to be expensive but you get high quality and enough portions for leftovers so, overall, a good value, perhaps for special occasions (couldn't afford it monthly).

Prices are too high and should allow substitutes such as mashed potato instead of baked potato etc without an upcharge. Had to pay to park too

Service by Sean excellent. Very attentive and helpful. Food was enough for 2 meals. Quality superb. Didn't have room for dessert so next time will skip appetizer. Prices reasonable for Quality of food which was expertly prepared. Will definitely go back.

Service was terrible. It felt like we were being rushed out. Most of the dishes our party had were decent but not worth the prices of fine dining. Definitely look elsewhere if you want steak.
