Benvenuti! Casa Santo Stefano is a Sicilian restaurant from the Gonzmart family, owners of the 1905 Family Of Restaurants. The lunch and dinner menus feature maccheroni (pasta), steaks, seafood, scacciata, salads, soups, desserts and hundreds of Sicilian wines. Curbside takeout is available by calling the main phone number. The rooftop Santo's Drinkeria also is open.

Housed in a beautifully re-imagined former 1925 Ybor City macaroni factory, the restaurant is a look back to Sunday suppers, simpler times and shared stories.

Dress code: Casa Santo Stefano often is visited for celebrations and special occasion meals, so it is common for our guests to sport formal wear in the dining room. We welcome everyone, but politely ask that men wear sleeves at Casa Santo Stefano.

Great food, drinks are wine. Service is excellent. The night we were there they had a person walking around singing and playing guitar.

The menu options are less than at other Italian restaurants. However the choices are unique and enough that anyone should find an option they like. The food was really good and the portions were large. The only negative was how long the wait was to get drinks and food. It took 15-20 minutes to get a glass of wine and 30+ minutes for the food…and we had to find the waitress to ask her to bring one of the meals (only 3 of 4 meals was brought to the table). After 10 minutes we found her and the last meal was served. Overall, we liked the restaurant and will be back. Cool vibe and a hidden gem in Ybor.

Reception was great and graciously accommodated me adding a person to our party last minute. I didn't realize Carnavale was going on and was slightly nervous about the limited menu, but everyone raved about every dish we ordered. The calamari was melt in your mouth fresh. Rebecca was an amazing server and had spot on recommendations. Thank you Gonzmart team!

I love this spot for traditional Sicilian food! The apps are amazing and my entee was even better. The ambiance is awesome and energetic and you can watch the chefs cook. I highly recommend!

Have been here a few times and this was the least satisfying visit, in part due to some kitchen issues and a crowded dining room due to Carnevale. Food wasn’t of the same caliber I’ve had before, but I’m chalking it up to an off-night and will certainly try again.

We find we enjoy visiting Casa Santo Stefano on Sunday afternoons. We consider Sunday afternoon dinner, but the restaurant classifies it as lunch which limits the offerings. Some of the improvements we’ve seen are bringing a wine list at ‘lunch’ and finally adding a veal dish to the lunch menu. Over time many little things have improved, but there is too often an issue with the meal which means we visit Casa Santo Stefano less often than other restaurants. As soon as veal was added I tried the Veal Scaloppine Milanesa which I found tough and over whelmed by the breading. We’ve given up trying the Arancini which tends to be bland and dry. Our favorite appetizers are Calamari Fritti and Millefoglie Melanzane which was previously a main. For mains, we tend to rotate through pasta or try the special which often is good. There are multiple good Sicilian wines in the $40+ range and we haven’t been disappointed. We made a return trip one week after the previous Sunday visit for Casa Carnevale. This was the first time they had a special for carnival season which is very big in Europe. We ate exclusively from the special menu and most options were great. They were out of Spiedini Carnevale so we ordered Arancini al Burro which was freshly made to order and it was great. My wife loved here Pappardelle a Rau Siciliana, but my Bracioluni did not match the menu description. Our waitress checked with the kitchen and informed me the Italian sausage, pancetta, and hard-boiled egg were rolled into the flank steak. I found no evidence of that claim.

Outstanding Sicilian food and wine with marvelous service and ambiance. Close, free parking. NY Cheesecake ended a perfect meal.
