Sebastian was our server, he made sure that we had everything we needed. We came for the pasta and parm wheel it was a great experience.

To start, I am never one to write a review and also worked in the service industry many moons ago. I had been here previously when they first opened and had a wonderful experience. This past visit was a NIGHTMARE! The service was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. The waiter didn’t acknowledge my request after asking over 7 times. She was dismissive and so rude. We waited at our table for over 40 minutes to just place an appetizer order. We only were able to place an order at this time because I flagged down a Manager to ask for any level of service. At which point the manager took the order, not the waitress It was legitimately appalling how neglected our table was. Went from one of my favorite restaurant experiences in STL to a place I legitimately would never recommend.

This was our first time at Casa Don Alfonso's and I was amazing. The staff is so inviting and friendly. We had the braised beef ravioli and the ricotta and mozzarella stuffed gnocchi. Which is outstanding. Followed by the Dark Chocolate "Vesuvius". and the house made hazelnut gelato which sent the enjoyed experience to another level. If you ever have the chance to go to Sorrento, Italy make sure you make reservations at Don Alfonso's. You will be blown away there. It is a 2 (going for 3 Michelin star) restaurant. Mario and his family were so welcoming. The food made so skillfully by Chef Ernesto and his staff was the most delectable bites I've ever had. If you are in St. Louis I encourage you to make a reservation at Casa Don Alfonso's. You will not be disappointed.

The food was good, but one of our party's pizzas came 10 minutes after everyone else's. We all sat there waiting while our food got cold. Michelin star service? I don't think so.

Overall my wife and I really enjoyed the evening. We went there for the pasta experience. It was very busy and we understand the long wait times to get dinner were expected. Great environment good food.

Table wasn’t ready at our reservation time (or after) so we sat at the bar. It was not as much of an experience at the bar. The hostess was not very friendly and she ran after us when we were leaving - not sure if she thought we didn’t pay!?!?!? Super strange. Small portions for high price but food was delicious.

Had a very nice dinner at Casa Don Alfonso. We were two couples seated at an outside table because that was the only option when we made the reservation. Patio is separated from the front of the hotel by growing plants. The only thing to mar our seating was that our table was right next to the patio door. It closed with a bang every time a guest or server used it. It could stand some maintenance to make the opening and closing smoother. Overall our meal was excellent with top-notch service from our server Dallas and his assistant Troy. Tomato bisque soup was really good - tasted of the best of summer’s tomatoes. My friend and I each had the meatballs (polpettone) and enjoyed them very much. Dessert of profiteroles was delicious. When we went back inside the restaurant to depart we were struck by how noisy it was inside. We were really glad that sitting outside was our dining option. It would have been hard to enjoy our dinner inside the noisy restaurant.

Perhaps my expectations were too high based on a Ritz Carlton restaurant, but service wasn't stellar, and they were "sold out" of a highly touted, signature dish by 6:15.

I have never written a bad review about anywhere, but I was severely disappointed by the service at Casa Don Alfonso that I feel like I have to. I made a reservation two weeks before our scheduled dining date because I saw the special on Instagram about the Parmesan and truffle pasta made in a cheese wheel table side. I normally don’t go to super nice & expensive places like this, but I wanted to take my parents out and treat them to a really nice dinner. I was super excited to get this experience, but was majorly let down. We arrived at 6 PM, right at our reservation. When it came time to order, around 6:30, we were told that they were sold out of the special Parmesan and truffle pasta. I was super disappointed because who would think that they would be out of the thing that they are heavily promoting online at 6:30 PM, prime dining time! We told the manager that was walking around checking on tables, that we were disappointed that we couldn’t get the item that we came to try. He was understanding and did make it right by giving us a different version of the dish, but after that, our server was not as friendly to us. It was like he was mad that we told the manager that he told us we couldn’t have the dish. From then on, the server would barely check on us and it took forever to get anything from him. Even though we had to slightly complain to get that dish, other tables that arrived and ordered after us were getting the special offered to them by their waiters! How are they sold out, but still offering it to other tables!? I originally wanted to make it a 3 course kind of meal with ordering a cappuccino and dessert for the table after dinner, but after I heard that and saw how other tables were being treated vs us, I felt slighted, upset, and just wanted to leave. The only nice part of the evening was the sommelier! He was nice and very knowledgeable. Overall, I had a bad experience at Casa Don Alfonso and will not be recommending to anyone!
