Caruso’s Grocery is modeled after the classic, Italian-American "red sauce" joint. You know the one: red banquettes, a killer chicken parmesan, Sinatra pouring through the speakers. If you’re looking for modern interpretations of a chef's take on the classics, you won’t find them here.

    Restaurant Review I recently had the pleasure of dining at Caruso’s Grocery, and it was truly a memorable experience from start to finish. First and foremost, the service was impeccable. The waitstaff were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and checking in at just the right moments. They were knowledgeable about the menu and even offered thoughtful recommendations that turned out to be perfect. The food was outstanding—every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I had the chicken parm and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in using fresh, high-quality ingredients. As for the drinks, they were just as impressive. The cocktail menu was creative and well-executed, with something for every palate. The pomegranate lemonade was flavorful and very well presented. Overall, Caruso’s Grocery offers a top-tier dining experience with exceptional food, drinks, and service. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a great night out, I highly recommend it. I’ll definitely be back!

    A slightly rocky start to a fine evening. It took us a while to get attention for our drinks order so we decided to order all the food as well, except for dessert. The waiter brought our drinks—and shortly, the appetizers and salads. The entrees came in good time. Eventually, it all worked out.

    Great experience--wonderful food, amazing service! Can get a bit loud and is a smaller space, but it adds to the old school italian vibe. Will definitely be back!

    Didn't love it! Nice intimate atmosphere, excellent food options, decent selection of wine, but it's missing personality. The server was kind, the service was slow. Heard it was one of the toughest restaurants in DC to get a reservation, OpenTable made that pretty easy though. Not on our must return list. Good Luck to them.

    The best Italian I’ve ever had! Immaculate service. Greeted warmly when we arrived. Seated earlier than our reservation time. The food was outstanding to say the least. My God. Cannot wait to go back. Making my next reservation right now!!! Idk who Caruso is but I gotta thank his parents for birthing him!
