The award winning Carriages restaurant is uniquely located within the allpay ltd campus in Whitestone Business Park, Hereford, and has been described as "City chic in rural Hereford".

Carriages was inspired by founder Tony Killeen's passion for trains and the quirky setting of the restaurant, which overlooks the old Whitestone railway station.

You can enjoy views of the rolling hills from the floor to ceiling windows in the top floor restaurant; dine inside or alfresco, on the spacious balcony, or walk the landscaped grounds surrounding the Four Seasons lake - which transforms into a maze of secret gardens, impressively lit up at night.

Carriages is open Friday and Saturday evenings.

The atmosphere at Carriages was superb and the service but the food was outstanding. To start I had the scotch egg in lobster bisque ..amazing and two of our party gaf the twice cooked cheese souffle which they loved. We really couldn't fault it. The ox cheek was also very good.

The canapes were placed in front of us and we were not told what they were?! My prosecco glass was swiped away before I had finished it! We had to ask for water for the table. We had to ask for additional drinks. The most frustrating thing was trying to book the complimentary taxi. When I had the call to confirm the booking I was told it was full, so I had no option to book it. I rang again yesterday to confirm this, to be told it can only be booked 3 times per evening. We were sat in the window and could see the taxi sat there for 20 mins before our booked taxi arrived. In that time it could have taken the four of us home?! It's not fair to advertise something you can't provide, when it was claerly available?!

A fantastic experience. A truly unique setting which has to be seen to be believed! The staff were extremely warm and welcoming. The food was delicious and our sommelier was brilliant. We thought that the whole experience was true value for money; the added extras of Prosecco on arrival and canapés were greatly appreciated. We made use of the free minibus service and this allowed us both to have the suggested drink pairings- perfect! The driver was so friendly and polite, another fantastic part of the whole experience. We will definitely be returning and can’t wait to see how the autumnal produce will be showcased in the restaurant.

Despite the strange location on an industrial estate. Once you get to the restaurant there are gardens that are overlooked by it and you do t know you’re in an industrial unit. It’s very well thought out. The food was amazing. We had the wine flight that was recommend with each course. It was a fantastic pairing and the sommelier knew his stuff. Waiting staff were attentive and the price was very reasonable considering the quality. we’re looking forward to a return visit.

Service was fabulous. Setting is lovely. Food was lacking… it all just lacked flavour and punch. Presentation was lovely. We had the ham hock, egg with veg, the duck and the fish. It was all fine. Nothing was delicious… there was no - “oh god you must try this” moment from either of us and having tried all four dishes there is nothing I would recommend or have again… shame as it’s an expensive restaurant and normally at this price point you’d be eating something really stand out delicious. The food was fine - we didn’t complain - but to us not worth the money.
