Under the direction of Chef Greg Murphy, the Carriage House Dining Room is known island-wide for its fine classic American cuisine. Local seafood selections such as Carriage House whitefish from Lake Superior and prime steaks from a Detroit family butcher are paired with fresh salads, soups and desserts topped with signature Iroquois Hot Fudge.

Directly overlooking the Straits of Mackinac, guests enjoy flawless service in our glass-enclosed dining room or on one of our breezy outdoor waterfront verandas. The restaurant features an extensive wine list, full bar and nightly entertainment at the piano bar.

Open table asked if there was a special occasion and I checked the box for anniversary. I thought that when we checked in the hostess would be aware of it. Nothing was said and I felt awkward mentioning it. It was our 50th.

My wife and I sat outside and it was as beautiful as anyone could hope. Overlooking the Straits of Mackinac is a treat. The Carriage House restaurant is the best on the island. Everything is neat, clean and first class. All the items on the menu looked wonderful. I started with the marinated lamb lollypops. They were outstanding, I wish it was an entree rather than just an appetizer. For our entrees my wife and I each had a different pasta dish. Both were excellent with a bottle of Chianti. The Mackinac season is coming to an end but if you have the opportunity to go to the island in the next few weeks, make the Carriage House a priority.

It's been a long time since we were last able to die at the Iroquois - still my favorite restaurant on Mackinac Island. Great food, great atmosphere, great view.

Our dinner was outstanding as were the cocktails. We ate outside and it was perfect.. complete with freighters passing by. The Diver Scallops were delicious, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Our server was Hope and she was spot on with her level of service. She was knowledgeable about the dishes and cocktails. She checked on us without hovering.. honestly it was just a fabulous dinner for us as well as our friends who were visiting us on the island.

The food, while beautifully prepared, was all rather bland. Definitely not the level expected for the price.

Outstanding meal (especially Lamb Lollipops). Mikayla was an outstanding server. View was spectacular. Best spot we found on the island.

As a once/special event meal, this was SUPERB. Service, ambiance, location, scenery, food quality, presentation, all were beyond excellent. For the cost point, you expect perfection and this was right on the money.
