Sat at the oyster bay which was nice, but no interaction from the staff which made it a little boring and impersonal, my server however was very nice and knowledgeable. Good selection of fresh oysters but the regular menu was lacking. Really thought there would have been more seafood options so that was very disappointing. Atmosphere was just hummmm; very bright and boring, to be honest. Don't remember any background music. Would go back for the oysters, if there were no other restaurants close by offering more menu options, but for nothing else.

"Oyster Bar." I was picturing a setting of a bar where people are seated and you order oysters and shuck them. Fortunately, for my first time there, the setting and the aesthetic was very relaxing. I am happy that this was the restaurant that I chose to spend time with my grandmother, for her birthday. Thank you to our server, Shanikte, or bringing a surprise Á la mode, cake, at the end. That was a REALLY good and brownie. As for the rest of our time there, the noise level was a little energetic, but I didn't mind it, since I was STILL having a good time. Thank you! PS: Those oysters were AWESOME! I wish I had more.

The salmon dip was terrible. It was just all cream cheese, not even mixed well with just a sprinkle of salmon in it on the top. The Wagyu was fatty as it ever could be and tough believe it or not. The best thing we had was probably the peanut butter pie, which you could tell they didn’t make. It was probably store-bought.

Virginia oysters a treat, really very good, 5 stars for those, although 4 of the dozen were not cleanly shucked (shell pieces). Fries stale, calamari OK but very salty (2 sauces = tasty). Burnt ends were not burnt at all, sauce very sweet. Wagyu steak nothing special. Great martini but at $19, for $10 more I could buy an entire bottle of Hendrick’s. Service friendly but kept disappearing, didn’t even suggest dessert. Front door kept getting left wide open in the middle of winter. I had 1 good experience At Caroline’s, then 1 that was OK. Last night was so disappointing that I won’t return.

Cornbread was hot on top and cold on the bottom. Temperature of restaurant was overwhelming hot.

Our experience at Caroline's Oyster Bar on New Years Eve was horrible. The hostess was rude to us, gave away our bar counter reservation despite us arriving to our reservation 10 minutes early, and forced us to sit outside near an open window in the cold while making snarky comments under her breath while seating us. Our waitress was just as rude and went out of her way to ignore our table. She did not know the menu, she refused to substitute a side salad for fries, and she was incredibly rude to us during every encounter when she actually would come to our table to help us. The oysters and food were notably good; however, the service makes this restaurant terrible.

There were minor issues with the service, but it's not fine dining so I don't mind a hiccup or two, but an oyster bar should know how to make mignonette. The first portion I received was pure vinegar, with one or two shards of eschalots. I asked the server for more, and received two more portions, that were exactly the same. Pure vinegar. That is almost unforgivable for a 128 dollar meal.

Oysters are delish! Many items we ordered didn’t make it to the table without a reminder. Some items were priced higher than value received. Would try again tho!
