Excellent food - pastrami was perfect! It’s a bit loud and seating is tight, but it’s NYC and a diner!

Have now been to the Carnegie Diner on 57th three times now and have been pleased with my experience each time. I’ve been impressed with not just the variety, the generous portions and speed of service like most diners, but imo the quality and taste is just MUCH better than that of a typical nyc diner, while pricing is similar. Also have found both the managers and wait staff to be kind and friendly despite the frenetic pace of customers coming and going. Was lucky enough to have Stefan S. as my server on 2 of my 3 visits…appreciated him making sure we have what we need during our meal and responding to any special requests with a smile and getting it right! Only negative is during prime times they really pack them in so it’s tight seating, but if you can handle that, at least for us, the experience didn’t suffer from it. We’ll be going back for sure.

Generous portions, fast service, friendly people, yummy food. Can’t go wrong. Definitely would come back. There’s something for everyone on the menu here!

This was our second visit. The first time everything was great. Unfortunately, this time our waitress was inattentive.

The food and service were good. One thing to note is that there was a wait to get in, even with a reservation. When I arrived at the restaurant and gave my name/reservation I was added to the bottom of the list that was being used to seat people. The wait wasn't too long but they don't hold a table based on the reservation.
