Carmella’s Plates & Pints is the first restaurant for co-owners, Carmella Salem and Michael Alberter. Our kitchen creates upscale comfort cuisine.
Our dining room has a warm and cozy feel due to the wood- beamed cathedral ceiling, open fireplace, taxidermy and stained glass windows that adorn the dining room. Our guests feel as though they are tucked away at some destination lodge that exists in the heart of the Historic Southside. Local meats are delivered daily with Wild Game plates on the menu such as our staple plates like the Bison Burger and Smoked Wild Boar Meatballs. We do have an intimate 60 seat dining room and ask that guests please call us for parties of 6 or more to make a reservation. Our expansive Whiskey Bar boasts over 500 Selections. Enjoy 11 Wines on Tap / 27 Craft beers on Tap / 11 Cocktails on Tap.

                                                                      I love the ambience of this restaurant and have had previous experiences that exceeded my expectations. Our most recent visit was a little disappointing. The staff was friendly and attentive but the food was blah and not worth the cost.

                                                                      Carmella's is one of our favorite spots for brunch. The brunch drinks are all tasty but I always come back to the Banana Old Fashion. There were four in our party. We all ordered something different. I had the Omelette du Jour which was filled with mushrooms and goat cheese and simply delicious. The shrimp and grits, Carmella's breakfast, and the Wagyu burger were what my family enjoyed. Carmella's never disappoints.

                                                                      The wait staff were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. The food looked cooked to order. No evidence of microwaved food. Very cool decor and stained glass skylights.

                                                                      The noise level was not good. Our table for two was longer than normal. We couldn't hold a conversation. So, although the food was good, the noise made it impossible to have a conversation and so we will not go again. When we left we notice the high top tables along the bar were noticeably more quiet. Request the high top seating if you want a more relaxing atmosphere.

                                                                      Romantic for people who are not at Altius level but looking for something fancy. ANNA was so kind and very attentive. Will come back for plenty of special occasions. Highly recommend!!!

                                                                      My husband and I have had dinner at Carmella's many times in the past 10 years and often bring friends and family with us, who have then come back again on their own. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The dining room in the back is beautiful, as is the well-stocked bar in the front. The food is delicious and I'm admittedly a picky, unadventurous eater, but of all the different entrees, appetizers or desserts I've chosen through the years (they seem to tweak the menu slightly each season), I've never had a less than excellent meal. They also offer many gluten-free and vegetarian options. We recently went for Sunday brunch, with another couple. I had the shrimp & grits and the others all had the "Carmella's Breakfast" and everyone was pleased with their choice.
