Carmella’s Plates & Pints is the first restaurant for co-owners, Carmella Salem and Michael Alberter. Our kitchen creates upscale comfort cuisine.
Our dining room has a warm and cozy feel due to the wood- beamed cathedral ceiling, open fireplace, taxidermy and stained glass windows that adorn the dining room. Our guests feel as though they are tucked away at some destination lodge that exists in the heart of the Historic Southside. Local meats are delivered daily with Wild Game plates on the menu such as our staple plates like the Bison Burger and Smoked Wild Boar Meatballs. We do have an intimate 60 seat dining room and ask that guests please call us for parties of 6 or more to make a reservation. Our expansive Whiskey Bar boasts over 500 Selections. Enjoy 11 Wines on Tap / 27 Craft beers on Tap / 11 Cocktails on Tap.

Parties arriving 15 minutes late may forfeit their reservation. Carmella's requires a credit card in order to make a reservation for parties OF 6 GUESTS OR MORE. We reserve the right to charge a one-time cancellation fee of $100 for any no show or cancellation made within 24 hours of the scheduled reservation.

We decided to go back to one of our favourite places. We did not know it was restaurant week. We were, however, pleasantly surprised. The food never disappoints, and the staff is attentive. I highly recommend trying this place out. Parking lot next door is ultra convenient.

From the gate,we were completely charmed by this gem of a place. The Bartenders were warm, hospitable, and masterful drink chefs. They knowledgeably and quickly serve a sprawling list of spirits in every flavor. (Yep, a candy store of the cocktail :) Our meals were lovely as well......a clever array delicious-ness for every palate at appropriate prices. Also... I use a manual wheelchair...the inside space is doable. There is one step up to the East Carson Street entry (my husband pulled me and my chair up that step into a narrow portico) For us together,'twaa manageable, but without his help, not so much.) Happily, we were told there was a straight-up-accessible entrance in the back. Good to know. Next time, we'll use it There's a parking lot on the side (convenient & $10)....... also looked like plenty of street parking This is an energetic spot. If you opt to sit in the bar area, it sounds/feels bustle-y and fun. (we heard an impressive jazz duo) If you prefer a quieter evening, the back dining area would likely have that happening. I seldom write reviews, but we were so delighted, I had to type it out loud. This is a soulful place to groove on creative flavors, music, and folks. Just go!

The food was amazing. I think that I made a great choice with the restaurant menu Nashville shrimp skewers and homemade chips. However the corn bread, app and dessert portions were a bit small for the total price. They all tasted amazing though! My husband ordered from the menu and was equally pleased with the food selection!

Visited during restaurant week and unfortunately everything was ‘just ok’. Taste wasn’t there and compared to so many other spots, the value for the spend is just not on par with the many many other eateries on this strip and in the city.

Every restaurant week, we pick typically 2-3 new restaurants to try. We’ve been doing this for several years now. This is the first review I’ve ever taken the time to leave. Carmella’s is now hands down our favorite. Their food is amazing, their staff is friendly, and their prices are very fair for the quality. Please give them a try - you won’t be disappointed!

A gem in the South Side. Carmella’s is great atmosphere, plenty of drink options, unique menu. Definitely a go to in the South Side!

I love the ambience of this restaurant and have had previous experiences that exceeded my expectations. Our most recent visit was a little disappointing. The staff was friendly and attentive but the food was blah and not worth the cost.

Carmella's is one of our favorite spots for brunch. The brunch drinks are all tasty but I always come back to the Banana Old Fashion. There were four in our party. We all ordered something different. I had the Omelette du Jour which was filled with mushrooms and goat cheese and simply delicious. The shrimp and grits, Carmella's breakfast, and the Wagyu burger were what my family enjoyed. Carmella's never disappoints.
