Carlos@b&v brings the finer side of dining and service to this unique little part of North London, on the Green in Winchmore Hill, a stone's throw from the mainline station of the same name and a short drive from Southgate on the end of the Piccadiily Line. Carlos himself is a restauranteur with flair, having built a reputation in the area over 30 years and so his experience with executing a dynamic and slick establishment brings much to be excited about. Guests will get that familiar 'welcome back' feeling even if they happen to be newcomers. The interiors are comfortably chic but inviting, with a warm ambience and the atmosphere is busy and vibrant. Live music and niche little magic entertainers are a regular occurrence. With an open alfresco feel in the summer, looking out on to the Green itself and a pavement terrace in warmer months too.
The menu is Modern European with a specials menu that changes regularly and plenty of choice on the drinks and cocktail menu.

    Much improved experience from previous owners. Generous portions, excellent service, only downside was that it was a little too loud. However this will not deter us in returning again.

    Food is lovely. The only thing I don't like about this place is the music. It's not conducive to the surroundings and is too loud. Depending on when you go, service is a bit hit and miss. We went twice on a Thursday. Once we had very attentive, quick service and the second time we had a rather sullen waiter and the waiting times were long.

    Very nice meal, great service and ambience. We eat here quite often, both as a family and for business lunches, it suits both. The menu has a good variety and there is a very good wine and cocktail list.

    2nd time here after it has changed hands and both times the food was better than under previous management. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Staff were friendly and efficient, lovely decor. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here and will return.

    I wouldn't suggest Carlos. I booked for father's day, and when ti came round to desserts the waiter asked if we wanted any coffees. I asked for the dessert menu, and the waiter was hesitant saying they had another booking, and they need the table back. He decided to bring the menu and I asked him how long we had, it was 2:20 at this point and he said they had a booking at 3:00 so needed the table within 15 mins. This seemed a bit excessive. I wasn't told how long we could have the table for, so I looked at the booking confirmation and it said for parties of 3+ we would have 3 hours for the table. At this point it left a sour taste in our mouth, and we didn't want to spend any more money there. We would of all ordered a dessert and coffee, but they clearly don't need any more. I won't be returning and won't be recommending to friends. The food was average.
