From the people that brought you Trattoria Carina, Pub & Kitchen and The Diving Horse comes their newest restaurant, Carina Sorella.

Carina Sorella is a casual neighborhood Italian restaurant with a focus on delicious and approachable food in a bright, vibrant atmosphere. Our menu is built around classic dishes - Spaghetti and Meatballs, Cacio e Pepe, Caesar Salad, Chicken Parmesan - but we surround that core of dishes with seasonal, chef driven specialties.

The Bryn Mawr location will include the addition of a pizza oven and a full bar, building on the smaller footprint of the existing location in Philadelphia, Trattoria Carina.

Wonderful from stem to stern! Thanks to the fabulous staff and chef for making our night out not only delicious but memorable! Danielle thoughtfully placed us in a quieter booth for my older parents and Joseph our server recommended fantastic picks from his favorites! Thanks to Jason for stopping by and saying hi! What a warm and friendly way to spend the evening with my parents! They were so happy…which made me happy! Will be back!

service was great. food was okay but could definitely share next time. pasta is al dente which isn’t my preference and also a little bland but I just know next time if I order pasta then to ask for them to cook it through. overall for the price and taste of food - I will stick to the pizza.

Was just ok. Went into it excited to try. Service was not great and I’ve had better food from many other places in the area. Likely will not try again.

Great, fun experience all the way around. Well executed in every way. Staff really well trained, professional, friendly. The stage is set at reception - welcoming, warm and friendly - it frankly made us reflect on how apathetic, vanilla or outright rude reception is with so many other restaurants. A nice touch. It is quite loud, however, as other reviewers frequently mention - hard to keep up a conversation. That said, the food was delicious, and the wine list interesting and reasonable.

Server lovely. Second time here -- wanted to try again just in case. Food quality still average and needs work-- does not live up to the aesthetic or expectation. Octopus appetizer delicious, cacio e pepe still watery and bland, needs a kick. Pear pizza and chicken parm better than average. Not sure if we will be back – – it is not worth knocking yourself out to try to get a reservation, which is hard to come as resto is shiny and new and small.

Had a great meal! Meatballs, burrata, and focaccia were all good and caesar salad was excellent! Our server was super sweet and the bartender gave us drinks while we waited for our table. Overall great experience.

This review pains me to write. I LOVE pub and kitchen and diving horse - When I lived in the city I was at pub and kitchen minimum of 3 nights a week. when I heard the same team was opening a place closer to me in Bryn Mawr I was ecstatic. Sadly the food is a far cry from any other Italian and costs are absolutely insane even for main line prices. I have no issue paying high prices for meals if it is worth it and good. Maybe because I am 3 days back from being in italy for weeks, but it just felt insane. Meatballs - 2 for $16 - $8 per meatball...and they were the most dense, slightly burnt on the bottom meatballs ever. More like hard meatloaf balls - my wife could not even eat it. Arancini were decent but absolutely smothered in the most insane amount of sauce which is a waste since there is no form of bread served with them. The antipasto board - a couple of slices of prosciutto, a small serving of olives, long hot peppers, a piece of burrata and a small piece of focaccia - something I could make at home for ~$3 was...$35! The pizza was just bizarre. We got the cacio e pepe pizza...the dough was odd. It was almost like flaking apart dough - definitely seemed like it wasn't fermented at all and the crust tasted like a dried out pretzel. That was reasonable at $14 or so. I will say the drinks were good. Although $24 for a glass of Nonino Amaro is insanity - a bottle is $49. Finally the noise...I get it we are in our 40's and complain about noise - but this was another level. We were sat across the table from each other and literally could not hear each other talk.
