From the people that brought you Trattoria Carina, Pub & Kitchen and The Diving Horse comes their newest restaurant, Carina Sorella.

Carina Sorella is a casual neighborhood Italian restaurant with a focus on delicious and approachable food in a bright, vibrant atmosphere. Our menu is built around classic dishes - Spaghetti and Meatballs, Cacio e Pepe, Caesar Salad, Chicken Parmesan - but we surround that core of dishes with seasonal, chef driven specialties.

The Bryn Mawr location will include the addition of a pizza oven and a full bar, building on the smaller footprint of the existing location in Philadelphia, Trattoria Carina.

I had high expectations for this restaurant being that I heard such great reviews about it. Walking in great ambience. Starting with appetizers…If you’re ordering Burrata , you should be getting peppers or tomatoes or something with it. You just never eat burrata by itself. The fact that you have to have order bread and peppers separately makes no sense to me. Next, we had the arancini. It was ok.

Great food and great service at Carina Sorella on a busy Friday evening. The staff is very attentive and very accommodating. Our server had excellent timing with our drinks, salads, entrees and desserts. Yes, it’s very loud in the dining room. The floors and walls are all tiled and the tables are marble so there’s nothing to deaden the sound. We shared a good sized Caesar salad that was dressed perfectly with a delicious house made dressing. The chicken parm was fantastic as was the Gemelli with pesto and pistachio. The best part of our meal was the budino. One of the best desserts I’ve ever had. It was a masterpiece!! We are looking forward to our next visit.

Cappaletti and peppers were outstanding as usual. Heirloom tomato salad tasty but smaller portion than I remember. Crispy artichokes were average- a bit too much char and less substance. $35 chicken parm, which was served a la carte, was not good at all. Management is engaged, and the server support is very good, but the servers lack refinement and require further coaching and experience. At least the kitchen is having them taste the food. But they need to be able to articulately describe what the product is to their patrons Mixed bag this time. Local resident looking for this place to succeed.

Salads are great but pastas lack flavor. Service is slow. Restaurant is very nice and comfortable.

I will start with a good, the grilled artichoke was fantastic as well as the dessert that was comped to us. Much appreciated. Unfortunately, that’s where I have to stop in terms of positive review. Most of the pasta sauces were very watery and my salad was an edible as it was overdressed. All of this was brought to the attention of the staff, who were very, very gracious in listening to our feedback. ultimately though, the meal was a big whiff.

We went for brunch at 11:30am. I ordered the 2 eggs with crispy potatoes and bacon. The crispy potatoes were completely cold and the thick bacon was only 1/2 cooked. The eggs. Were ok. Someone needs to talk to the chef.

Carina never disappoints! The food and drinks are excellent! Special mention to the staff especially Marissa and Jenna who enhanced our visit with excellent service!

Everything was wonderful..... very very LOUD....... Tables are way toooo close for nice dinner conversation. Service was very professional and good.
