At Caribou the surroundings are comfortable and the focus is contemporary cuisine of exceptional quality. Signature dishes created by our Chef include certified Angus tenderloin, cedar plank salmon, black and blue ahi tuna and wood oven pizzas. Our desserts are prepared in-house by our pastry chef. We feature an extensive wine list with numerous vintage wines as well as over 30 wines by the glass.
Caribou Restaurant + Wine Bar opened in November of 1999. The menu has been developed over many years of visiting restaurants all over North America and the world. Options represent Italian, Asian, Cuban or any other styles of new and exciting cuisine.
Caribou has been listed in "Where to Eat in Canada" for several years running and the wine list has earned the "Wine Spectator Award of Excellence" every year since 2002.

DJ provided attentive and courteous service and Caribou delivered a great meal once again! Always creative and very tasty, we always try to get to Caribou for a meal when we are in TBay…and You should too!!

We had a fantastic evening, and the food was absolutely delicious. A heartfelt thanks to Danica and Nick for speaking with us in French, our mother tongue—it truly made the experience even more special!

We went for the Valentine's Day 3 course and it was divine. Good wine, got a nice booth, and it was just a delightful evening after that. The food was plentiful, the wine was good quality and purchasable by the bottle, the service was exquisite and the orders came out in a timely manner. Will definitely be back.

Our server Ewan was great. Professional, courteous & helpful. He recommended great choices and our food was amazing. We were greeted when we arrived by staff who are engaging and the evening was an excellent experience.

Don’t let the location deter you from making this a prime dinner spot on your visit to Thunder Bay. Located in a non-descript mall parking lot you forget all your cares once you enter the doors of the well branded Caribou Resto and Eibe Bar. You are immediately greeted by a visible kitchen where well trained staff are feverishly whipping up a diverse offering of fare. The welcome staff offer to take your coat and bring you promptly to your table. We were celebrating with our Varsity Volleyball athlete daughter after a hotly contested game against hometown Thunderwolves so we skipped the fancier cocktails and ordered a crisp and tasty mid priced Viognier with a starter of warm olives. For dinner we decided to share 3 mains which turned out to be an excellent choice. Our waitress was calm, friendly and warmly accommodating. The food came out in a very timely fashion and although we had offered to receive them as they were ready we were assured that the kitchen would have them delivered at peak freshness. The custom pizzas are worth their weight in gold. The structure and flavour of the crust is unparalleled in our experience. We chose the white version with fig, pear, prosciutto and arugula. One can easily make a full and delicious meal of this but we also treated ourselves to the perfectly seared Ahi Tuna on a crispy rice bar with a mountain of cucumber and wasabi vinaigrette along with, the star flavour dish of the night, the Mafaldine Pasta with braised rabbit, pancetta and wild mushrooms. A dose of freshly ground black pepper makes this relatively bland looking pasta soar. Had we not treated my daughters York University team to a massive tray of local Persians (procured from the University Field House snack bar on a weekend by a stroke of luck) we would definitely have ordered the Créme Framboise to share for dessert. An outstanding experience on all accounts. Thank you for hosting us.
