Located in the Historical Defoe Building, La Vita e Bella is spread over three intimate dining rooms. Our menu focuses on fresh, from our homemade pasta to our handcrafted desserts everything we serve is done with care. We are the perfect destination for your romantic dinner, group function in one of our private dining spaces or a night out before an event at the Saddledome. We look forward to seeing you soon.

    Excellent food, the calamari, the broccolini, and the Barrada, and for dinner, the pasta yummy. Excellent service.

    My wife and I just found our new goto Italian restaurant! Graham and all the wait staff were wonderful and welcoming. Graham’s knowledge of menu offerings was very helpful. The food was exceptional and fully reminded me about the food I ate during my long term stay in Italy. I unequivocally recommend this restaurant for anyone interested in authentic Italian food.

    Food was very good, as well as the wine choice. Service and food delivery was great and well timed , however it was a quiet Monday evening with outside temperatures of -25C. That said it was very cosy and pleasant inside. I forget the servers name, but he was excellent, he knows the menu and his wines. Overall a very pleasant surprise and so convenient to our residence.

    Calamari was the best ever. Veal was 'ok' a bit tough and very salty. Nice flavour overall. Squid ink pasta was interesting. The seafood in it was well cooked. Very neat restaurant in an old house. It has a great atmosphere but is loud.

    This is a fabulous restaurant and the service is absolutely superb. Cocktails are quite unique and that always starts an evening out very nicely. Everything we had showed attention to detail and each dish was balanced yet just a little bit different. The menu though not extensive is sure to please. The ceviche was one of the best that I have had, the veal chop divine and the pasta pure Italian of the likes of many Italian families that we know but with just a little interesting twist. Even the gluten free chocolate torte with ice cream was yummy down to the last crumb. This is high praise indeed as I have had to become a gluten free baker myself: it certainly passed the test. The wine list is well curated with great wine within everyone's budget.
