Sadly it didn’t live up to the expectations, the famous talla fish was lacking flavor in our opinion, the oysters were excellent though. Overall we felt it was an average experience and the space too small for the amount of people in the restaurant.

A must place to go when you are in Mexico City. Service was exceptional, friendly, prompt kind and knowledgeable. Food was amazing. Bathroom clean

We were pretty bummed when we couldn’t get reservations at Contramar or Entremar, so finding out Caracol de Mar is their sister restaurant felt like a win. We tried a bit of everything—tostada de atún, pulpo enamorado (which was hands-down my favorite), aguachile de camarón with an interesting peanut twist, pescado a la talla contramar, and pulpo al carbón. All solid dishes, but honestly, the real reason we’ll be back is for the drinks and dessert. The Margarita Dragones was probably the best margarita I’ve had in a long time—and coming from Texas, that’s saying something. And the merengue? Absolute perfection. Plus, the waitstaff was amazing. They were super attentive and happy to answer all our questions, which made the experience even better. Only reason this isn’t a 5/5 is because our table was basically on the sidewalk right next to people waiting for a table and smoking, which definitely took away from the vibe. But overall, great spot with amazing service—just make sure to ask for an inside table if you can.
