Capital Prime, an award-winning steakhouse and seafood restaurant in Lansing, Michigan, features hand-cut USDA Prime and Certified Angus Beef. Aged a minimum of 21 days, all steaks are prepared with our special blend of house seasonings and broiled at 1800°. You will not find a better steak anywhere.

Food and service were outstanding as usual. It took a very long time for our food to arrive. Something isn’t right in the kitchen. I do not fault our server for that and we were offered a free appetizer. We had the Sirloin, Bluefin Tuna, and Chicken Caesar Salad. All were excellent.

Took my parents out for their anniversary and had a great dinner. Everything from the wine recommendation to the appetizers and entrees was excellent. Will definitely return.

Steak was undercooked they took it and “brought it up to temp” but it was still rare. Sides were ok, asparagus was sweet. Server did an excellent job cook not so much.

I recently dined at Capital Prime Steak and Seafood with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short. To start on a positive note, the New York Strip I ordered was excellent—cooked to perfection and flavorful enough to stand on its own. The side dishes of Seasoned Veggies and Whipped Potatoes were also outstanding. However, the overall experience was disappointing, and my family will not be returning. I had made a reservation via OpenTable, noting that we were celebrating a birthday. While this was acknowledged at the door, we were seated at a less-than-ideal table rather than one of the nicer booths, which did not enhance the special occasion. Both my wife and I ordered drinks and mentioned it was a special night out, but the atmosphere and service felt more akin to dining at a casual chain restaurant rather than a higher-end establishment. The service was particularly frustrating. Our waiter spoke in a low mumble and recommended the house special, Salmon Wellington, which sounded promising. Despite my wife clearly stating she only eats fish and not meat, her meal arrived with asparagus covered in bacon. When she requested a separate plate to avoid the bacon-touched food, the waiter was unhelpful and insisted it wasn’t his fault. My wife had to use her bread dish to separate the fish from the bacon herself. After a lengthy delay involving the manager and the kitchen, her original side of potatoes returned, along with new asparagus drenched in soy sauce, making them inedible. Also Note the Potatoes are inedible because at this point she has no idea what touched the bacon in the first point. A simple solution—providing a separate plate as initially requested—would have allowed her to enjoy her meal. While my food itself was good, the service & attention to detail were lacking. The inability to accommodate dietary restrictions and the overall attitude of the staff made for a disappointing dining experience.

Came for anniversary and the staff was very nice and kept telling us happy anniversary. New York strip was absolutely unreal. Probably hands down the best steak I’ve ever had tbh. And it wasn’t even off the prime steak section so I can only imagine how those are. Girlfriend got the New York, I got the smash burger. The truffle French fries that come with it are just crazy. They are too good. The burger itself was also extremely good. Really good place for a special day!
