Canto do Poeta is a traditional Fado House with traditional Portuguese food.
Canto do Poeta means Poet's corner, or poetically The Poet's Song.
The poets, who bring Fado to life and reinvent it in their poems are cult figures to whom tribute can be found on the walls of Canto do Poeta, which are filled with original or classic poems, penned and offered by their authors to this venue. Here, Portuguese cuisine spontaneously and relaxedly merges with Fado and its artists. We have live Traditional Fado performances every night except Monday with the best musicians and singers of Lisbon, in a very small and intimate dinner room.

Fantastic intimate venue . Staff superb . Food of a decent variety and quality from a small kitchen . Musicians enjoyed playing and the applause. We had a lovely evening .

Overall, an excellent dinner and Fado experience . It is a very small restaurant so reservations are a must. A must-do in Lisbon!

What a fantastic experience all around. Such a neat little place, wonderful service, delicious food and outstanding Fado music. There was a table of noisy ladies who had a hard time realizing they weren’t the center of the universe, but that wasn’t the restaurant’s fault. Plus, it was fun shushing them. Go there. Do this. Enjoy.

Great experience! Food was delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful. I really enjoyed the Fado entertainment also.

Lots of different Fado’s in Lisbon, but this is intimate, amazing food and they accommodated by son’s food allergies (milk, eggs, nuts). 3rd visit to Canto do Poeta!

Our family can thoroughly recommend Canto do Poeta. The food was very good, the wine and the service both good too and the music fabulous. Hugely atmospheric and enjoyable. We loved it.

The overall experience was great. Restaurant staff were very accommodating of our gluten free needs. The music was great, though it started well into the meal. We ended up leaving before it was over. It’s worth going for the experience, but the food is so so.

Excelente dinner experience. The singers come out a little late and we were not sure how many there were going to be singing but they were all amazing. One thing we didn’t know is cash only
