Cantina Norte is an upper-middle range Mexican restaurant located in beautiful Edgemont Village, North Vancouver. Serving high-quality dishes from Mexico’s west coast, Cantina Norte is a modern interpretation of a former family restaurant – Vancouver’s most award-winning Mexican restaurant, Cafe Norte (1998-2009). We are a fully-licensed, food-primary establishment offering sit-in dining, take-away, catering, and event-hosting.

                      Great restaurant with very good food and service. Wonderful little patio to sit out on when sunny. Staff very friendly. The only complaint I have is when its busy its very noisey inside.....

                      The food, as always, was amazing. The service though, was mediocre. Our server was lovely but having to ask for water, cutlery, napkins …that’s not up to par. I found it very hard to hear as well - inside. I’m not sure why that is because most people were outside. But it made it hard to enjoy our experience. Having said that - the food is so good, plentiful and the setting is gorgeous.

                      The waitress found a perfect spot for 3 senior gals reconnecting. She sat us in a less noisy area and had comfortable padded seats. Always love the classic margarita and the prawn quesadilla…great salad.

                      The service was very good...quick delivery of food to the table once ordered. The food for dinner was also very tasty. A little too tart on the palate for one diner was the ceviche. It was a lot of lime juice. Chorros were a little hard. The issue was the level of noise in the entire room. It was so loud in there, like a gymnasium. After 2.5 hours for dinner with my friend, I could not wait to get out as my ears were tired. Nice spot and obviously great hires of local young workers which is so important. A nod of appreciation as we left would have been nice but after a long night at that 'energetic' noise level, I am sure that it affects even the staff. Overall good though.

                      Great service but foods are not real Mexican. All customers are western or Asian. The menu adapted to the local market so it could be good for someone doesn’t expect real one.

                      Great venue and location. Nikola was an awesome attendant to us. Correct amount of attention and 'checking in'. Food was very good. We had a vegan in the group and they were well accomodated with the menu. Only (minor) concern is that the music is perhaps too loud which makes it hard to have a conversation without raising your voice.

                      This was for my 61st birthday! I have loved this place since the beginning ❤️ in my misspent well spent 20’s. You closed for a while but now you’re back and better than ever! Thank you❤️
