4friends, two from out of town wanted a friendly place to have drinks and dinner. A bit loud, the music, but not that bad. We could talk reasonably which we love. Shouting over loud music or loud conversations of other people is tough and really not fun. We did enjoy our time and the food was delicious. Please turn down the sound a bit and maybe there would be more people.

Sunday evening- 23 February 2025 Management quickly corrected issues with drinks and apps. Results were great. Bartender this evening had a subpar Attitude. Would never choose to sit at her bar. Dinner was ultimately a success. Go for dinner Not for the bar.

Party of 8 for a birthday. Made reservations about a month in advance for 6pm. We were told when we arrived that they were running behind by 30-60 minutes. Hostess seemed impatient and overwhelmed. They eventually put us in a room after 25 minutes, but not before witnessing them tell other people who also had reservations that they would have to wait an hour. Restaurant was completely packed. Servers were also overwhelmed, but I have to give a positive shoutout to Makayla (our server). She definitely had a lot on her plate, but was friendly, attentive, and took the time to make sure our orders were correct. Our margaritas tasted premixed with little to no alcohol. Watered down. The food was lukewarm at best, and was either too salty (shrimp) or lacked any flavor at all (salsa, tomatillo sauce, chicken tacos, rice, tamales, dry enchiladas). I’ve been here before and thought it was excellent. Maybe they were having an off night.

We arrived at our reservation time and was seated 5 minutes later. We sat there for 15 minutes, without being talked to. We flagged down a manager and explained the situation. She brought us chips and dips, took our drink orders. She brought them within 5 minutes. She informed us our server would be there shortly. Another 10 minutes later, our server arrived. He was visibly and verbally rushed, that he skipped acknowledging our 7 year old and her order, we had to call him back. We saw our server 1 time, only to refill a soda and water,-which took him over 5 minutes. Then, when he brought us the check, without asking if we were done. We asked for boxes then and we showed our Zeiders tickets( which gave us 20% off our bill). He said he would remove it, after we gave him the card. He brought it back and there was no discount added. We, again, flagged down the manager and explained because we never saw our server again. She fixed the problem. We always go to Catina Laredo before Zeiders performance and this was the worst experience we had ever had. Rough, rough experience.

Unfortunately this restaurant is just not great. The food is premade and very little chicken meat is in the chicken chimichangas or burritos. One of our party was served mostly onions with her fajitas instead of mixed vegetables. We were also not seated in the requested area of the restaurant.

My wife and I dined at Cantina Laredo during Virginia Beach Restaurant Week, it was our first visit. The entrees were hugh. One entree could have fed both of us nicely. We took home two to-go bags of food. The service was absolutely fabulous. Ambiance is bright and clean, sort of post-industrial modern chic atmosphere. The real winner of our evening was the Mexican Apple Pie dessert. If you like cinnamon, this is your dessert.

The Fajitas Tres and Camaron Poblana Asada were delicious. Definitely could have enjoyed each between two people as the plate was full. The mexican apple pie is to die for too. Highly recommend dining here.
