The Canoe House never fails to provide excellent ambiance, food and service. The menu is appropriate for the setting and everything is prepared perfectly.

We have been to the canoe house many times over the years and it is one of our favorites. This year was different as the food and time to receive our meal was sub par . My wife had the fish that came out dry , Ask the waiter ( most kind) and he stated yes they overcooked it and got her new meal which was better , I had the lobster which was ok not great and this occurred after waiting 1.5 hours for our meal which they did comp us dessert. Overall great location , way to long to receive food

Very nice for a special occasion. The food and drinks were expensive but the food was of great quality. The Nikko cocktail was my favorite.

This kitchen prepares amazing and unique dishes. We have been diners here since Alan Wong was the chef and the current menu meet that standard.The lobster tempura is reminiscent of Allan, prepared slightly differently, but just as delicious. The radish salad is an absolute must. We also feel that the garlic fried rice is the perfect compliment, to your protein of choice. It is definitely hard to beat the setting and the entire staff is absolutely outstanding and they work perfectly in unison to provide amazing service. He will definitely feel the Aloha Spirit at the Canoe House.

This is always such an amazing restaurant to eat at. The food and atmosphere are so great. It’s hard to get a reservation I recommend at least one month before you come to the big island. One can book a private table by the ocean which we haven’t done, but would love to. The sunsets are beautiful from any outdoor table.

We went to Canoe House to celebrate a birthday. We were seated towards the back among number of table with families and small children. Not exactly a romantic special seating. Service was slow getting started but then attentive. Food was all excellent, so what large portions of entrees. Food quality was good, selection a little limited. Overall a 4/5 stars.

Best place we’ve eaten on the island. Our first night here was so amazing. Jhumar was our server and absolutely sold us on the specials and drinks. The delivery of the food descriptions were on point. You’d think he created the menu. My boyfriend and I couldn’t decide so we just ordered everything he recommended. We got the snap peas, toro special, hamachi collar, and garlic fried rice. Our experience was so amazing we made a reservation for a second visit during our dinner. The second time we got the Wagyu warayaki, pork jowl, and lobster. Incredible
