Overall, pretty enjoyable restaurant. Really good service and very enjoyable food. The restroom situation kind of sucked (needed to get a key & off the property). As a gluten-free diner, I also felt pretty comfortable. It was expensive but it was a very tasty meal.

Cute little restaurant near downtown La Jolla proper. Very good service and food prep. Located in a strip mall with difficult parking so its best to find street parking if you can.

We had an excellent wait staff. The food was well prepared: fish stew with a tomato sauce, clams with linguini, orchiette with a sausage ragu and a delicious arugula salad with grapes, beets and goat cheese. We ate in the pleasantly decorated dining room though there is an outdoor patio as well.

Our waiter, Guillermo, had such a positive and fun energy! They knew it was my wife’s birthday because I said in the reservation, “it’s [her] birthday but she’s shy”, so at the end of the meal, they brought cake and Guillermo and a bus boy whose name I didn’t catch, quietly sang happy birthday. It was really cute and the food was great

From the table settings to the glassware, top notch. Negroni’s were delicious as well as Caesar salad. I wished the Branzino was a bit more flavorful. It was a bit bland. Needed a butter caper sauce. It was, however, a huge beautiful serving.

Starter: Grilled Pear Panzanella & Burrata - excellent; swordfish - - excellent; Lamb Pappardelle - excellent; Penne Norma with eggplant - excellent; Candor Sundae - rich. Starter had a mouthful of different flavors on toast with balsamic vinegar; swordfish tasty and done to perfection; lamb - one the best diner has had; my pasta Norma wasn't the usual but loved the eggplant - soft on inside and light crispy on outside; healthy serving. Decadent dessert - a tower of different textures and flavors: whipped cream; gelato; something else (I forget) and a walnut brownie - a bit dry, not chewy, but very good. Service was very good. Needed more water. Did not order drinks this time. Quieter than usual -middle of the week. Cool outside - ate inside.

Always enjoy food and service at Candor. New Fall menu is just fabulous. The best chicken Milanese- crispy, flavorful, not greasy and served with fresh arugula and tomatoes. Make sure you leave room for an amazing TIRAMISU MOUSSE CAKE!!
