A neighbourhood restaurant on Stoney Street, Borough Market - Camille is a reflection of imagined jaunts through regional France.

The menu from head chef Elliot Hashtroudi celebrates the magic of local and seasonal produce - his simple approach to cooking captures the rustic energy of a regional French table.

An intimate casual bistro-style dining space with small bar and window counter seating is the back drop to our a-la-carte menu and ‘daily specials’ board.

Like in our other restaurants Ducksoup, Little Duck and Emilia you’ll find a weekly changing menu of wines by the glass and bottle from small independent producers.

Poor from start to finish. Staff are way too laid back. Dirty plates only removed when new dishes arrived. No wine cooler offered, when house wine is £50 plus service. Food all tasted very similar, too similar. Won’t be returning.

For a restaurant at this level sending food out when it’s ready not when the paying customer wants is unacceptable. Wine list unnecessarily expensive, then ran out of wines at the lower end of the list. We ordered three wines: each one we were told they’d run out after the first bottle. This should be made clear when the wine is served. Very cramped. Wait staff continually bumping into us and stopping our conversation to explain dishes which is just not necessary. Food excellent. I really wanted to love this place: for the reasons above tough to forgive

The slip sole, the oysters and the burnt milk tart were some of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten in 16 years of living in London.

The food was great The service was not very welcome or informed. We were a party of 5. We were reminded of how much time we have left before having to handover the table 5-6 times from the moment we sat down. Staff were not informed about all the menu options. We were told the food would take 45 mins to prepare but it took less. Ambiance is alright the setting is a little too rustic and casual

Absolutely fantastic amazing food. We thought they might struggle to top Emilia in Ashburton but this is just a fabulous !

We were disappointed with the food. It was overly salty, the rabbit sauce was over reduced and almost inedible. The order that plates came out is confused at best. We had just had dessert when the plate of mussels we ordered arrived. Small plates is one thing, but is it too much to expect some sequence? That said, the oysters and devilled egg with smoked eel were excellent. Wine is very expensive, £65 for one of the cheaper bottles seems excessive even for London. The waitress we had was good, and apologised for the mussels and rabbit, removing both from the bill without us asking. Not the experience we were hoping for from a restaurant so recently acclaimed.

Had a superb meal at Camille. Great cooking and wonderful flavours. The service was excellent. Knowledgable and friendly staff and a high level of professionalism. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and the one we were not so happy about was taken off the bill. We weren’t expecting that at all so made us feel really valued. We will return because the food is so so good.

Dishes were amazing. The daily specials were also delicious. Loved the flavours. The vibe was great. Very comfortable atmosphere and welcoming service.
