A French-Japanese bistro in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles.

Reservations are always recommended, but we are often able to accommodate walk-ins as well.

While we love dogs, we can only accept trained service animals (not emotional support animals) both in our dining room as well as on our outdoor patio. We appreciate your understanding.

Great atmosphere, food, and drinks. Service and the meal pacing was a bit slow though.

Ah, the joys of dining al fresco—except when it’s not your choice, it's freezing, and you're paying $400 to do it. We came to this restaurant for a special dinner, expecting an elegant indoor experience, only to be ushered to what I can only describe as coffee shop patio. It felt like the uglier sister of the main restaurant: metal uncomfortable chairs, tables that scream “quick lunch stop,” and a couple of heat lamps that made as much difference as a single matchstick in a snowstorm. Let’s just say my carefully planned outfit was hidden under a blanket the whole time, so glad I dressed up! The food? Absolutely fantastic—worth every penny. The cocktails? Also great…once they finally arrived. Not sure why two drinks took 25 minutes to prepare, but at least it gave us time to ponder how we were essentially shivering in style. I will say, our first visit was amazing—cozy bar seating, perfect ambiance, but apparently, if you book through OpenTable, you may be in for a chilly surprise. Unlike most restaurants, there's no clear indication of where you’ll be seated. A little heads-up that we’d be outside would have been nice; we’d have come in boots and coats instead of cocktail attire. To sum it up: if you can guarantee an indoor table or the bar, I’d say go for it! The food is worth it. But I’d avoid the patio unless you love the charm of cold toes and uncomfortable chairs in dim heat-lamp light.

The restaurant is so loud that we had to shout at each other. All of our four throats are sore this morning because of it. The chicken liver appetizer was great. All other dishes were OK. I certainly don’t get calling it one of the best in the country. Hip atmosphere, good cocktails, but turn down the music. Some people actually like to talk to each other over dinner.

Use their valet. Do not park in “public parking lot”. It’s a predatory business. Towed my car $300 to have it returned and the tow company is in a very dangerous area. BE AWARE.

It was phenomenal!!! Everything we ordered just kept getting tastier and tastier!!! Oysters were so fresh and velvety going down. The burger, pasta bolognase and sweet potato dish were the hit of the evening!!! Can't wait to go back! Our servers and food runner were amazing, helpful, and charming.

The food was lovely (although the plates were overpriced for what you got—like $24 for two blinis and $54 for 3 scallops oof) and the staff were all wonderful, but it took 45min past our reservation time to be seated, and 35 of those 45min of us standing outside in the cold and rain sprinkles until someone offered to put us in the lounge to wait. The house manager felt terrible and gave us the black sesame parker house rolls, another fish appetizer, and some tastes of sake to apologize (which was very classy and well received), but I still had to spend the rest of the evening apologizing to my chilled and hangry friends. I don’t think I would go back until they fix the seating problem (be it having a no table camping policy or not overbooking (I don’t know which was the root issue)) and the pricing (they were Michelin prices for not a Michelin level exp).

Beautiful place. Passable fare. You’ll get rained on with no assistance should you be unfortunate enough to get sat outside along the outer edge on a drizzly day.

After we got out bread roll the rest of the food took an hour to get to the table. Not once did they check in to see if we wanted more water/drinks or to let us know the food is delayed. The atmosphere was nice. Really open. Good vibes. Uni pasta was pretty good, on the saltier side. Pot pie was mediocre. And the mochi dessert was really bad. The mochi was hard and tasted like dough. One of the worst “mochi” I’ve had.
