Located in downtown Columbia, SC, inside the historic 1902 Union Station, California Dreaming welcomes guests with its vibrant and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows offer a picturesque view of the rail tracks, stretching from the inactive platform to the main terminal. Paired with our hearty, made-from-scratch menu, it's no wonder California Dreaming has been a beloved local institution since 1984. Open for lunch and dinner daily, including online ordering with curbside pickup.

Celebrating 40 years, California Dreaming has been a valued part of the Columbia community. Union Station, its historic home, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

**We provide Advance Priority Seating to reduce wait times and expedite the seating process when your entire party arrives. To ensure the best experience for all guests, we seat groups of up to 8. While larger groups are seated separately, this arrangement is flexible during quieter hours.

First there is not enough parking. Host and wait staff were great. The food, however, was not so great. I had the fried crab claws, and they tasted almost burnt. They did not even look appealing. We had a Californian salad that was totally messed up. The chicken tenders "looked" as if they had been tossed in the fire, but the flavor was not too terrible. The best part of the meal were the honey croissants. I've eaten here multiple times in the past and it has always been great. Not sure what happened

It was a super busy day for the restaurant but the staff handles the stress beautifully and our server was top notch!

Food & service was great, no complaints! We still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated even though we had the reservation. When we first got there we were told there was about a 20 minute delay. Even though, we were seated and all good after that. I will say that the young lady who was hosting, did an excellent job managing customers, the phone, helping staff to seat people and didn't even seem to break a sweat. Overall excellent! It is frustrating to wait that long especially with a reservation but I understand that you can't always predict how things will go. Overall I feel the workers were attentive, helpful and very nice. You can't say that about every restaurant these days.
