Located in downtown Columbia, SC, inside the historic 1902 Union Station, California Dreaming welcomes guests with its vibrant and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows offer a picturesque view of the rail tracks, stretching from the inactive platform to the main terminal. Paired with our hearty, made-from-scratch menu, it's no wonder California Dreaming has been a beloved local institution since 1984. Open for lunch and dinner daily, including online ordering with curbside pickup.

Celebrating 40 years, California Dreaming has been a valued part of the Columbia community. Union Station, its historic home, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

**We provide Advance Priority Seating to reduce wait times and expedite the seating process when your entire party arrives. To ensure the best experience for all guests, we seat groups of up to 8. While larger groups are seated separately, this arrangement is flexible during quieter hours.

Tyler, our waiter is the best he was very attentive. He made our first time at California Dreaming a great experience. We Will definitely be back the food was delicious, especially that apple walnut cobbler.

This by far was not a good experience. California Dreaming use to be one of my favorites restaurants but now I do not see going there again. The only good thing being a manager asked if everything was alright with our meal and we explained what happened with a number of incidents the bill was significantly reduced. I’d would have rather have had an enjoyable dining experience!

My family and I reserve here for my niece and nephew birthday. We had an awesome time and every thing was perfect. We did not have one big table but we were seated side by side and it was a 10/10. Food hot and fresh. Seafood nachos great the staff were great and the waiter and waitress were awesome. Tanner Brown great job with your staff. We all really enjoyed this day. We hated to leave.

The food was fine but when I made the reservation through this app, it asked if there was any special occasions. I typed in that it was my son‘s 16th birthday and I would love for them to have the staff recognize it. Well, they did not. Also I understand they close at nine. We had a reservation at 7:45 but by 8:30 while we were eating we noticed they shut the air conditioning off or greatly reduced it to the point of it being uncomfortable. was not a great experience at all And expected way more from such a great restaurant like this.

Tried to give this restaurant a chance. Food is just not good anymore. The ambiance of this place is gone. Not returning.

We throughly enjoyed our dining experience. The food was excellent. We were seated within 15 minutes of our reservation.

Service was slow….took awhile before a server came to our table….15 minutes before we got our wine ***after we reminded them we hadn’t received it…and then took our food our order. Food was ok. Better experience when we ate there last summer. ***Plus : the restaurant wasn’t overly busy…lots of empty tables. Perhaps lack of staff???
