Since 1987, California Dreaming has been a proud part of the Charleston, SC community. Our spacious, open setting features floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the Ashley River, creating the perfect backdrop for a lively night out. You can also enjoy these panoramic views from our wrap-around deck, complete with a bar and easily accessible by boat. Whether you're craving low country favorites or our famous prime rib, California Dreaming is a favorite among both locals and tourists.

**Please note that we provide Advance Priority Seating to reduce wait times and expedite the seating process when your entire party arrives. To ensure the best experience for all guests, we seat groups of up to 6. While larger groups are seated separately, this arrangement is flexible during quieter hours.

We had 2 handicapped diners and the ramp was very long & uphill. In addition, the ramp places one almost 360 degrees from the host greeting table. They were really tired after being seated. The steak was tough. The sauce for the calamari was unusual with chunks of cooked tomatoes in it. The best dish was the honey butter Croissants but most was middle of the road.

The bldg is located right on the water by the Marina and has gorgeous huge windows looking out onto the Ashley River. The service was excellent and the food was really good. Our table had the croissants with sweet butter! Wow were they good! Soft, hot and the butter was out of this world. We had the filet mignon, the Ashley (broiled chicken and blackened shrimp in a lobster sauce), and the fried shrimp, oyster and fish plate. Everyone’s food was excellent.

Beautiful spot! Server seemed frazzled but others did not. If she needed assistance No one was aware or cared. Food was slow but mostly good. Salads were in the warm side (not chilled lettuce etc.) mains were good but also slow to come.

Poorly prepared food, lazy and bored high school aged staff and loud atmosphere. My Caesar salad had been sitting awhile and smothered with parm cheese ; asked for ribeye steak medium rare, came out overcooked and cool. Our server couldn’t be more bored with the entire experience. Serious absence of management oversight. Stay away from.

Overall good experience. Seemed like the server was new. By the time we were done eating, we were sweating because the inside temperature was not that cool.

Great food and great service. Would definitely eat here again. So fun to watch the boats in the harbor.
