Since 1987, California Dreaming has been a proud part of the Charleston, SC community. Our spacious, open setting features floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the Ashley River, creating the perfect backdrop for a lively night out. You can also enjoy these panoramic views from our wrap-around deck, complete with a bar and easily accessible by boat. Whether you're craving low country favorites or our famous prime rib, California Dreaming is a favorite among both locals and tourists.

**Please note that we provide Advance Priority Seating to reduce wait times and expedite the seating process when your entire party arrives. To ensure the best experience for all guests, we seat groups of up to 6. While larger groups are seated separately, this arrangement is flexible during quieter hours.

We enjoyed our dinner out at this location. The view of the river was beautiful. The kids food was delicious. We order the croissants appetizer and they were delicious. They got my wife’s order incorrect (ordered blackened chicken salad but received roasted chicken salad). We didn’t know for sure until we got our bill at the end. I ordered the filet mignon; it was not the best steak I’ve had but was still good. Our server did a fantastic job! The music inside was a little loud and not the type we expected for this nice restaurant (louder country music). Overall, we’d definitely eat there again but probably adjust some of the items we would order.

We will never return. The only good thing about our experience was the view. Our server was inattentive and our food was terrible! Very disappointing.

They changed the menu to my dislike and it lacked my favorites. The waitress keep refilling our glasses but would not take the empty glasses so we had 6 empty glasses on the table along with appetizer dishes which left minimal room for our plates. The value for the food is subpar… this is not the California Dreaming that I grew accustomed to.

MAKE A RESERVATION! You must make a reservation on the weekends (I'm not sure about week days). My family and I were in Charleston for a day and decided to eat here for dinner. We tried to make a reservation, but their limit was 6. Our waitress was sweet and patient after we finally got seated. The food was sub-par. My steak was tough, and the mashed potatoes had a tangy taste that did not mix well. My mother’s tenders were “different,” simply put, so we sent them back. I've always had a good experience with California Dreaming but this time it wasn't worth it.

Food was very good the only thing lacking was service. Long wait times even after scheduling 2 hours before and waitress rushing us along after taking nearly and hour to bring out food.

Great place if u have never been to Charleston. Great food and view is spectacular. Would recommend for a nice dinner or lunch on the bay.

We visited for our anniversary while in the area of vacation. The food was amazing and the view was awesome! I highly recommend!
