Since 1987, California Dreaming has been a proud part of the Charleston, SC community. Our spacious, open setting features floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the Ashley River, creating the perfect backdrop for a lively night out. You can also enjoy these panoramic views from our wrap-around deck, complete with a bar and easily accessible by boat. Whether you're craving low country favorites or our famous prime rib, California Dreaming is a favorite among both locals and tourists.

**Please note that we provide Advance Priority Seating to reduce wait times and expedite the seating process when your entire party arrives. To ensure the best experience for all guests, we seat groups of up to 6. While larger groups are seated separately, this arrangement is flexible during quieter hours.

We went for dinner and to experience the fireworks over the bay. Our server (I am so bad at names) was excellent, tended to our every need and made sure we had a fantastic view of the show. always delicious when we come here and always excellent service! We will be back. Anyone visiting Charleston should not miss this place by the river - the food and the staff are excellent!!

The atmosphere of this place is great! Right on the water, and perfect views all around. Service was decent, though we wished our orders were taken a little quicker. The meals were good (although the steak I ordered Medium came out Well Done). I'd definitely recommend this place, but maybe shy away from the cuts of meat here. Unfortunately, my 14oz New York Strip was about 8oz of fat.

A great go-to restaurant while in Charleston, located in an incredible building. Food is always consistent and the views are amazing.

Waitress didn’t listen to our order. It’s our anniversary and steak was over cooked! Just disappointed

So disappointing! It is my favorite restaurant chain but last night it took over an hour from ordering our food to receiving it. We were not told that there was problems on kitchen when we ordered.

The food was fantastic, per normal. However, we waited over 15 minutes for a server to even come to our table and greet us. He mumbled like a mouse and was very hard to hear / understand. After placing our drink order it took about another 15 minutes to receive our drinks. (2 waters, sweet tea & a coke - so it wasn’t a hold up from the bar). The food came out a little slow, however, it was a busy night and that was understandable. My parents were in town and I was so excited to take them there for the first time and was very upset about the poor/slow service from our server.

Disappointed. There menu changed and not like other California dreaming restaurants. Took forever to get our food. 40 minutes. The AC didn’t work. We were sweating waiting Won’t got back to this one ever again

Could not believe they were out more 6 items. Manager in charge of ordering needs to improve unless it is automatic in which your system needs improvement. Also when we’re tanked to our table, we pointed to another one and asked if we could sit there. We were told the area was closed and less than 5 minutes later they sat someone there. Roast beef was a bit tough.
