Home to the flavorsome platters of South Louisiana, Cajun Queen is a converted home restaurant, the architecture of which dates back to the vintage early 18th century. A nostalgic iteration of the 1980's New Orleans greets the visiting patrons, with purple, green and golden themed décor priming the interiors at Cajun Queen. The dining experience is equally comfortable, and customers can cine in the living room, expanded restroom, sunroom or wrought iron rooftop terrace. From crawfish to seafood, gumbo to steak—the servings at Cajun Queen are a concoction of culinary choices. Fried shrimp, etouffee, blackened chicken breast, bayou platter, ribeye steak and frenbch cut pork chop are often the most ladled platters which customers like to order. Wine servings prime the bar area to complement the authentic Cajun flavors.

Literally so good we didn’t even snag any pictures. That’s how you know it’s good food. Went for my birthday dinner with a party of 8 and were immediately served. The drinks here are strong but tasty and our server was very attentive and friendly! We all wanted to try a little of everything and good lord the portions here are MASSIVE. A little about the food, cause you really should just come taste it for yourself. Salt & pepper fried catfish was the BEST catfish I’ve ever had. The seafood gumbo is delicious. Shrimp and grits were flavorful and the sausage in it really makes it! 3-way Diane was spicy and rich, the popcorn crawfish were a crowd pleaser as well as the bourbon bread pudding, étouffée was divine with no leftovers. You can’t go wrong with this place if you’re looking for flavor and New Orleans vibes. Will be back again soon!

We rarely get a chance to do anything just us. My mother in law moved in theee years ago and since then has broken a hip and now needs all kinds of help and attention to get through the day. On the rare occasion we get a moment that is not previously spoken for in our lives my wife and I jump at the chance to run away to our favorite The Cajun Queen. Most of the time the atmosphere is quite loud and great, but this visit was even more rare as we had the dining room to ourselves for most of our meal. LOVE THAT YOU DO BRUNCH!!! Thanks for being there to help us forget the craziness of life, if only for a moment. The friendliness of the staff is surpassed only by the stellar, delicious food. We usually get dessert to take back for everyone at home so they don’t hate us so much after they realize that we visited you without them. Until next time, whenever that may be…Wooly and Robin

The food was good, but the service was lacking. And we don’t enjoy sitting in the add-on room. Way too hot and too crowded with bodies. The guy bringing out bread and helping out was great.

Tasty entrees: chicken Diane was delicious, shrimp etouffee was rich but enjoyable and very generous with its quantity of shrimp. Portions were quite large. Dining room was somewhat dingy. Disappointingly, the online menu posted on the Cajun Queen’s own website was not accurate to the menu being offered in the restaurant. We chose this restaurant on the strength of its seafood offerings online, and we were surprised to find that THREE such entrees—salmon, mahi, and tilapia, all three offered blackened with appealing toppings per the website menu—were nowhere to be found on the (seemingly static) hard-copy menu when we arrived. While we enjoyed the items that we ultimately ordered, we probably would have chosen a different Charlotte restaurant that is truly abundant in non-fried seafood offerings had we known that the website menu was so unrepresentative of the actual restaurant.
