We had a great server named Denise she recommended food let us modify some dishes. It was a birthday and she gave us a dessert. Food was very good and service was great.

Usually, this is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in the area, but last night was a bit off for us. The service was good, but very slow... It took almost an hour to get our entrees. Most of the food was good, but a few items were not up to their usual standard.

We always enjoy Cafe Toscano and have been coming for years. Last night was not a great one (and that is even with the food being great as always). One of the (few) good things that came out of the covid experience was that diners acquired a greater sensitivity to what it takes to keep a restaurant up and running. Consequently, the dining public is a little more tolerant when they are made aware of issues. That "made aware" is where I have the biggest problem with our experience last night. After being almost a half hour past our reservation time and still not being seated, with very dim prospects for anything soon, we agreed to take a table that sat 4 (there were 6 of us) and simply make do. It was cozy but workable. After being seated for over 20 minutes our server finally came by to introduce herself and take our drink orders. In her defense, she also seemed to be handling multiple other tables one of which was a 10 top. Our suspicion is that they were short, at least, a server and probably a cook as well. Our server was actually quite good and did all that she could to keep things moving, however, if the food isn't coming up you can't serve it. At no point during the evening did any "management" person ever proactively make anyone aware of the expected delays. At no point did any "management person" ever come to any of the tables to try and placate the customers or to even just "make nice". Even though people (us) were being served their food well past 2 hours after their reservation did any "management person" offer to comp a round of drinks while waiting or desert after the hours long process. This is an excellent example of a time when everyone could/should have left with a much better feeling for Cafe Toscano than they did. Someone should have been making the customers part of what was going on instead of keeping everyone in the dark. Too bad.

This restaurant is one of my favorites and anyone I’ve brought there has loved it also. Food is always excellent, service efficient, and generous portions. I hope they will reopen for lunch again because it can be hard to get a table for dinner.

A typically excellent dining experience. It's become the go-to restaurant for special occasions for us as well as our neighborhood friends.

Food was excellent! The restaurant was very busy, as a result if was over 90 minutes from the time seated at 6:30 until serving our main course. We would go again as this is some of the best Italian in the Cleveland area, but don’t be in a hurry!

I'm very glad that Cafe Toscnao has joined Open Table. The reservation process is so much more accurate now - our table was actually available on time! The food was delicious as usual. Our server, Mia, was delightful. Our wine and martini were spot on. The only negative is that they have changed the pricing on some of the salads. I have always ordered the insalata misti supreme, which is an enhanced version of their insalata misti (the enhancements are cheese and olives, I believe). The cost difference used to be two or three dollars between these two salads. Last night, the menu price was $7 for the insalata misti, and $12 for the supreme! I asked the server whether the supreme version is now larger than it used to be, hoping to still order the side salad size for the modest increase in cost. She told me no, it is still the same side salad size - the restaurant had just decided to dramatically increase the price on that salad. Not being able to rationalize that price difference, I settled on the Caesar salad, which was fine. Other than the salad issue, we had a very nice experience at Cafe Toscano.
