Italian in-laws visiting SLO from San Diego chose Cafe Roma for their celebratory anniversary dinner with local relatives. Everything was perfect from salads to desserts. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful without being obsequious, and the food was great, as always. Couldn't have been a better family experience.

Wife enjoyed the salmon dish, I the spaghetti and tomato sauce with a side of sautéed spinach. We shared the spumoni Bombas for dessert-a work of art and delicious. Service efficient and personable. This was a repeat visit. Will return.

We enjoy dining at Cafe Roma. The staff is exceptional. They tend to our table and know how to pace the courses. I had the salmon medallion for the first time. It was perfectly cooked-moist and tender. We like to eat in the patio area as it’s less busy out there and always comfortable.

Ideal location at the SLO train depot. Parking is free and rarely a problem finding a spot close to the restaurant. The bar is small but noisy only on the weekends. The outdoor patio area is ideal while the indoor area is large with a wonderfullly high ceiling. Tuesdays are especially popular with half-priced bottles of wine. Reservations are essential on the weekend as this is one of the most popular restaurants for out-oftown visitors. While the emphasis is on Italian cuisine, there are always several specials on the menu each day. The fresh fish catch is one of my favorites while the lasagna with bolognese sauce is the best ever.
